If you're going to try to influence policy by pushing for a controversial measure, I think it's your duty to a) be clear and b) engage the best counterarguments to your proposal, and, if relevant, c) offer some new ideas or specifics on how to proceed. Assertion won't cut it.

@AerospaceNew@KTmBoyle This is incredibly important. It still feels like the NatSec world and Tech are talking past each other and the myriad DoD innovation initiatives are all too often bridges to nowhere.
Today our team took out a full page ad in the @washingtonpost in support of a #PriceOnCarbon.

Our full statement:
“Ohhh no. I’m sorry. The answer we were looking for was ‘One soldier lost is too many and I will find out what happened. Thank you to our intelligence agencies for protecting those who defend our freedom.’ You lose control of the presidency.”
This is an example of the kind of moral courage we need from our leaders, in uniform and out. The ability to admit a mistake, a clear assertion of some very basic principles, and a willingness to get crosswise with this president while doing so. @thejointstaff
