@ColumbiaMed @NYPresbyterian I am extremely frustrated with the care at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

My 77-year-old mother has been in the Emergency Department for over 24 hours AFTER being told she would be admitted.

Why am I acting as her CNA? Why are elderly patients left in pain and waiting?

The conditions are unacceptable:

Patients waiting 2–4 DAYS in the ED for beds
Nurses inattentive and difficult to reach
Family members forced to provide basic care (changing sheets, getting food, chasing down meds)
