I do not have any other accounts on @XMENA
I have never asked for or collected money from anyone, and I would never do such a thing.
I have no idea who is creating countless fake accounts using my name and photos.
I am not responsible for any scam carried out by impersonators using my name and pictures.
I have also reported these fake accounts multiple times but they haven’t been taken down.

Proud to have received the 2025 World Press Photo of the Year for my photo of “Mahmoud Ajjour, aged nine,”after an Israeli attack on Gaza, taken for The New York Times. The award was handed to me by Prince Constantijn in Amsterdam. The exhibition will tour 60+ cities worldwide.

So many messages everywhere –
through email, WhatsApp, and social media.
I sincerely apologize for not being able to respond to everyone.
I truly appreciate all of this and am deeply grateful for your concern, but I need some time
🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
We want our families and loved ones to stay safe.
That Ihab, along with all the colleagues and the wounded, be able to travel and receive treatment.
We’ve already lost too many.

I always have, and still do, wish to capture the photo that would stop this war —
that would stop the killing, the death, the starvation.
And I still wish for it.
But if our photos can’t stop all this tragedy and horror, then what is the value of a photo?

What is the image you’re waiting to see in order to understand what’s happening inside Gaza?
Mahmoud is just a part of what’s happening there — to the children, the massive and terrifying amputations.
“Stop the war, enough is enough.”

At an exhibition in Amsterdam, a long poster lists the names of Palestinian journalists killed in Gaza. Standing before it is heartbreaking. Every loss hurts deeply. May God have mercy on them, heal the wounded, and spare us further grief.
Congratulations to @samarabuelouf of the @nytimes for winning the Olivier Rebbot Award for best photographic news reporting from abroad in any medium, for coverage of Gaza. Watch the acceptance speech here: https://t.co/PMoYMiVhYG #OPCAwards86
