Our @SamaritansPurse teams have been building two Ebola Treatment Centers in the northeastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), which is the epicenter of the outbreak. One is in Bunia, and one is located in Nyankunde. These 40-bed facilities open today. We have dozens of DART (Disaster Assistance Response Team) members on the ground. Pray for our doctors, nurses, and other staff—and pray with us for an end to the spread of this deadly virus.

Our Ebola Treatment Center is now open and receiving patients!

After extensive construction and thorough training, a combined force of Samaritan's Purse staff and local medical professionals are now treating patients in Bunia, DRC who are suffering from the deadly virus.

As this treatment center fills up, please pray that even in the face of fear and sickness they become places marked by healing and hope through Jesus Christ.

Today, I spoke at the @SamaritansPurse Disaster Relief Vehicles (DRVs) commissioning. We dedicated 11 new DRVs that will be placed with churches across 7 states. A DRV is a box truck that is filled with essential supplies that are always used during a disaster response. We give these trucks to churches to use in their own local ministry, but when a large disaster strikes, the church will deliver the truck to the Samaritan’s Purse response site along with additional volunteers. There is a large fleet of these vans housed at churches across the county. It was a great day meeting church partners from across the country.

Why would someone willingly come face to face with Ebola?

Ngabu's "why" for serving shows us Christ's heart for the suffering and isolated.

Ngabu is a local nurse finishing Ebola response training in the DRC.

He's lost many neighbors to the virus, but despite this he serves with compassion, bravery, and excellence out of love for Christ and his community.
