A footnote on Slade Sprankle: Teammate Kole Cash told me after his 342-yard rushing effort vs. Heath that it was Sprankle who got teammates into summer workouts 90 minutes early for lifts. He drove that bus, which is why coaches left him in to get the record. Felt he earned it.
