@PascalAmpertail It really isn't. It's just the one that survived to see the light. Personally? I don't want the game erased or shut down, that's the same fate d2 is going through. I'd prefer it were never made, or at least spaced out dev time to not leech off d2. There was other projects, too.
@oldmanreeg On the surface? Absolutely true. If you break it down and look deeper? The sauce is there. Bael is hella interesting, and the nine plot is/was moving in a direction I'm interested in. The star wars shit though? Was tired of it mission 1 lol.
It was made, and there are people who enjoy it. I wouldn't say to burn the game to the ground for it, that's exactly the same fate d2 is undergoing currently. I think there's just no excuse for Sony to can one of the most iconic IPs on the market for a niche extraction shooter.
If you want my take on the d2 vs marathon debate, I'm a longtime d2 player who doesn't like extraction shooters. They're just not my genre. Marathon players are free to enjoy the game, a few of my friends do, but I'll never play it personally. I think the entire reason we're(1/3)
To avoid a bloodborne/Titanfall situation, where the franchise we're so passionate about is left to rot. Ideally speaking? I'd prefer if Marathon was never made. Or at the very least, stretched out over a long period of time to lessen costs and burdens on d2 development. But(3/4)
@AileInTheValley@IN5IDE4D@rosoddle@THREEPEDWOOD Calling guardian games/arms week/fotl/dawning/solstice content is a stretch at best. Most of these have barely been touched in years, if at all. New weapons are not meaningful content.
@AileInTheValley@IN5IDE4D@rosoddle@THREEPEDWOOD A d2 season will give you a weekly campaign story (which wow does too), maybe either a new dungeon or a new raid (3-4 encounters). And that's just speaking on wow raiding, not including dungeons, pvp, or any other content the game adds like delves, prey, open world, or otherwise.
@laiimonlime Genuinely biphobia. A lot of my friends are bi and I've noticed the absurd amount that gets thrown their way for absolutely no reason. Most of it from inside the house.
@ObviousRises To play devils advocate here, and I am by no means an AI supporter, but doesn't making this sort of thing theoretically make AI data centers want this instead of gaming hardware? I hate ai quite a bit, but there's room for nuance.
Bro they made a destiny Gacha game last year and people played it just because they wanted more destiny. Those two are about the furthest apart you can get, audience wise. ๐ Destiny has a market that's extremely under utilized.
There is still a massive market for Destiny as an IP. Donโt let the current numbers fool you into believing the millions that played this franchise just disappeared into thin air.
We are only two years from Final Shape hitting over 300k concurrent on steam.
This would sell.
@LuminaryOfAges I mean I'll be honest I follow for the rwby art, just what I like from you. Would love to see some more characters in your style from it too, Neo, more Weiss.
