@offtheballbbc Cherished - Copenhagen and Bayern, great atmosphere at both games and brilliant goals
Not so cherished - The McGhee era😳
Honourable mention - Alan Combe throwing the ball off Darren Mackies head, looping back over him and into the back of the net
@AbzPodcast Seeing all the Irish celebrations the other night really made me wonder if we’d ever get that sort of thing…well, we just got a handful🏴❤️
@FraserWallace92 The players should be taking more responsibility after the 3rd goes in but I don’t get the comparison to playing POAK, 2 years ago under Robson. More pressing issues right now than comparing us to a different tram under a different manager
@AbzPodcast I wish we were half as clinical as they are. Had chances going forward and looked even in the opening stages but we’ve been all over the shop since the 2nd.
Let's have a look at some weird Aberdeen statistics. The most ridiculously elusive xG team of the last 1.2 seasons that I've encountered.
This season, for example, Expected Points has Abdn 5th.
But they are not 5th, cos they have scored none goals (0)
@keeza1903 What is he meant to do when he’s constantly left isolated? Wingers don’t help him at all. We see the best of Jensen when wingers drive for the line and not when they come inside. He is always left alone and people want him to magic something from nothing.
@SouthStandDon Parts of last season. I personally thought that the start we made to the season last year was very good and we looked a quality team. There was still things that needed addressed but overall.
@mikeystrac @jaymoir_ That is where we are significantly lacking. Yengi is nowhere near the quality we need and that signing needs questioned. Lazetic has to start after the international break.
@SouthStandDon Yes, because for me I can’t see how sacking another manager after 12-18 months helps us in the long run. Thelin has shown he can get a team playing very well. He absolutely has questions to answer for some of his tactical decisions but overall I think he the one for the job
@jaymoir_ However, the club have been after Jimmy for along time (before the permanent appointment of Robson). He won’t be getting the sack any time soon and I don’t think he should. Constantly sacking managers causes instability and that when you can have a season where you go down
@jaymoir_ Striker recruitment has been poor, overall, personally I think it’s been ok. I don’t understand how anyone at the club thinks we’re run a good spot with only Yengi and Lazetic (assuming Sokler is away) at the club. Agree if that was another manager they’d be under more pressure
@doc42 So what’s the solution? Sack him? Start all over again with someone new? For me, all the eggs need to go in his basket. Even if this season is another inconsistent one. In the long run he brings us success, he’s proved it in his first season. I’m confident he’ll do it again.
@doc42 I don’t disagree that he doesn’t know his best 11 but the way we went at them (champions of Romania) tonight shows, to me anyway, that he is the right person for the job. Last season was crazy. A freak of a season. Patience and stability is the key for me. He gives us that.
Aberdeen game has been ruined by the referee.
He’s given a penalty for this “handball” & a second yellow card for the “handball”.
Aberdeen losing 1-0 & down to 10 men thanks to UEFA officiating incompetence
Dons should’ve walked off the field.
