I was saddened by the attack on and killing, injuring and kidnapping of Israeli citizens, including children on 7 October. However, international law clearly prohibits what Israel has since done in retaliation. Israel has killed over 6000 Palestinian civilians, half of which being children, destroyed homes, hospitals and blockaded humanitarian assistance. It has intimidated many into internal displacement.
