Why would they walk away if what they were doing was legal?

Wherever you stand on immigration, leaving an elderly man handcuffed and injured on an airport floor, and then running away when confronted with your action is indefensible.

Nevadans demand professionalism and basic decency from law enforcement.

This was neither.

Nevadans need full accounting of what happened with an independent and transparent investigation.

Two people in plain clothes tackled and tried to handcuff a man at Harry Reid International Airport on Monday.

When they saw they were being filmed, they quickly left.

A TSA agent was present and said they were law enforcement.

When people lose credit access, spending drops, hiring slows, and recession follows. The people hurt the most are those that can least afford it. A credit card interest rate cap could trigger all of that. @SenCortezMasto please oppose a cap to protect these individuals.

Today, Officer Thomas Lopey was laid to rest.

Officer Lopey honorably served our country in the military and continued his life of service as an officer with the Reno Police Department. My heart breaks for the young daughter he leaves behind who may never fully know the depth of her father’s sacrifice, but I hope she grows up knowing that her dad was a true hero. 💙💙💙

I was fortunate enough to know Lopey and to get just a small glimpse of the kind of man Lopey was, selfless, dedicated, and deeply determined to fight for the things he believed in. His loss hurts, and I can only imagine the pain his brothers and sisters in blue are carrying today.

May Officer Thomas Lopey rest in peace. I will remember his service, honor his sacrifice, and never forget his legacy. 💙

Steve Horner was an incredible champion for educators, students, and Nevada families.

He swore an oath and served in uniform and out of uniform to make America live up to its promises, fight injustice, and he worked every day to help our community rise to our better angels.

His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to do the right thing showed through everyday, and demonstrated a truly wonderful person he was.

Steve has left a lasting impact on generations of Nevadans.
