Congratulations, @andyburnham, on becoming Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
Moldova values the UK’s friendship — in defending our democracy, in supporting Ukraine, and in helping to keep Europe safe. I look forward to working together and to welcoming you to Chișinău.
Honoured to welcome President Droupadi Murmu — the first visit by an Indian head of state to Moldova. India, the world’s largest democracy, is a valued friend. We’re building a partnership that delivers real results for our people.
I had a good exchange with Slovenian PM @JJansaSDS in Kyiv. We discussed bilateral cooperation and keeping the enlargement momentum strong — for Moldova, Ukraine, and the Western Balkans. Thank you, Slovenia, for supporting Moldova’s European future.
Was pleased to meet PM @AndrejPlenkovic in Kyiv. Croatia is a solid partner of Moldova and a supporter of our EU path. We discussed developing our economic ties and Croatia’s valuable accession experience. Thank you for standing with us.
Good to sit down with President @ZelenskyyUa in Kyiv. We discussed regional security and crossborder projects that build our shared resilience.
Moldova stands firmly with Ukraine — now also as part of the Coalition of the Willing.
Honoured to be in Kyiv on Ukraine’s Statehood Day. To the brave Ukrainian people: thank you for the lesson of strength and resilience that you give us every single day — and for showing the world that bombs cannot turn dignity into submission. Slava Ukraini!
Bonne fête nationale à nos amis français ! Nous sommes fiers de compter la France parmi nos amis les plus proches.
Et quelle fierté de voir nos officiers porter le drapeau moldave au défilé du 14 juillet, sur les Champs-Élysées !
Today in Paris, Moldova took part in the Coalition of the Willing for the first time. We share a 1,222km friendly border with Ukraine — an asset for peace in Europe.
Peace in Ukraine means peace and security for Moldova. We stand ready to do our part for a just, lasting peace.
Today I designated Vasile Tofan as candidate for Prime Minister, following consultations with parliamentary factions.
Our priorities stay clear: reforms, EU accession, and better lives for our people.
Congratulations to the people of the United States on 250 years of independence.
For two and a half centuries, America has shown that freedom endures. Moldova is proud to call the United States a friend and partner.
Happy Independence Day!
I have taken note of @AlexMunteanuMD’s resignation and thank him for his service and for initiating difficult but needed reforms.
On Monday, I begin consultations with parliamentary factions on designating a new PM. Moldova’s path remains unchanged: reforms and EU accession.
Another brutal Russian attack on Kyiv with civilians killed in their own homes. My deepest condolences to the families. Moldova stands firmly with Ukraine. Accountability for these crimes, more pressure on Russia and stronger support for Ukraine — this must be the world’s answer.
As Cyprus’s Presidency of the Council of the EU comes to a close, thank you, @Christodulides, for your leadership. The opening of Cluster 1 negotiations is a major step on Moldova’s path to the EU. We now look forward to working with Ireland to carry the momentum forward.
Good phone call today with Prime Minister @AndrisKulbergs of Latvia. We talked about our solid bilateral relationship and Moldova’s path to the EU.
Grateful for Latvia’s steady support. I look forward to deepening our cooperation.
Thank you, @Keir_Starmer, for your strong cooperation with Moldova during your time as Prime Minister.
The United Kingdom stood with us against hybrid attacks and helped strengthen our resilience. Moldovans will remember this. We are grateful. We wish you all the best.
A strong summit in Brussels. We opened our first negotiating cluster last week, and today we took stock of where we are — on reforms, economic development, and security and defence cooperation.
Moldova is doing its part, and we count on the 27 EU member states to do the same.
It is good to be back in Brussels, among friends. Thank you @eucopresident António Costa and President @vonderleyen for the warm welcome, and for this summit that carries our partnership forward.
A good day for our European family.
@ZelenskyyUa — congratulations to Ukraine on opening the first negotiation cluster. An important step for both our countries.
@JakovMilatovic — Montenegro keeps moving forward on its European path. Congratulations on your continued progress.
Today Moldova opened EU accession negotiations on the first cluster, “Fundamentals” — the core values at the heart of the European Union.
We’re ready to open all clusters and will keep working with the same determination.
The Kremlin has shown again that nothing is sacred to it. Those who claim to defend Christian values bombed the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, one of Orthodoxy’s holiest sites. Real faith does not bomb cathedrals. Moldova stands with Ukraine. The pressure must grow until Russia is stopped.
