Imagine watching a thrilling web series about the #Kargil war which offers striking visuals, loads of action and a cast chock-a-block full of good-looking men who have acted very well (including @WorldofSidharth@jimmysheirgill@sanjaysuri and others). Imagine watching a web series which makes you reflect upon the machinations of the neighboring country's politicians and the futility of war.
Now imagine what stays with you long after you have finished watching,is the performance of a very fine actor who hasn't wasted a single line. One who is so convincing, that he makes you hate the guts of the character he is playing (General Musharraf).
Take a bow, @manurishichadha 👏👏👏 kya kamaal ki acting ki hai aapne!

Hi @sanjaysuri, I'm sure you're getting tagged in a lot of tweets ATM. I binged Operation Safed Sagar last night, and your cameo reminded me of my tweet that you liked on Jhankaar Beats. You're a cool man. Great cameo btw.
#MainVaapasAaunga is a class act by #ImtiazAli. #NaseeruddinShah as the elderly Sikh gentleman IsharSinghGrewal rules every frame he appears in.What a master class in acting.
Apart from the sweet music by @arrahman and @Irshad_Kamil who seem to reserve their finest work for Imtiaz, what really touched my heart is that Imtiaz,by all accounts, ended up giving a cathartic experience to three actors
(Kashmiri Hindus/Pandits) who are part of the cast. All three have seen great personal losses in the late 1980s-early 1990s: @sanjaysuri whose family's suffering I can't even bring myself to repeat,as also two young KPs @vedangrainaaaa and #HarshulKaul who have heard about the tragedy of Kashmir from their parents and grandparents.
The film reminds us that men can turn into beasts at the first available opportunity, and it is up to each one of us to be vigilant and to resist evil.
I have mixed feelings about the @diljitdosanjh track(the romantic relationship with his GF wasn't convincing),but overall the film worked for me.
Throughout my career, the query has been ‘Why do we see less of you?’ My only answer would be that I felt underutilized. I would get a lot of offers [to play] a well-educated, well-to-do, smart, and suave guy. That’s where it ended-@sanjaysuri https://t.co/HEqRNyAAvZ
There was a comfort in working with Imtiaz Ali because I knew he is not leading you to hate. He is leading you to love, and to opening of the heart. The film asks what we humans are made of. This othering is so non inclusive-@sanjaysuri https://t.co/nfPnBruxNY
I’m from Kashmir & Imtiaz Ali has a connect with the place. So, we chatted about life and then he said, ‘I am making a film, which is being seen from an old man’s viewpoint.’ Then we started talking about humans seeing grief, loss, and identity-@sanjaysuri https://t.co/nfPnBruxNY
Someone did imagine Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dakait [in Dhurandhar, 2025], right? These directors don’t want run-of-the-mill [casting], which is exciting. So, I’m hoping for diverse opportunities to come my way-@sanjaysuri https://t.co/HEqRNyAAvZ
@sanjaysuri@VarietyIndia@Variety Sanjay ji It is always a pleasure to watch you not only coz your movies are different & wholesome but also coz Your screen presence speaks for itself. One comes away totally satisfied.Would add another gem to your list it’s “Pareeksha”. Also your movie “Teddy ”struck a chord✊🙏
Esteemed filmmakers like Subhash Ghai, Shekhar Kapoor, Siddharth Anand, Anurag Kashyap, Anubhav Sinha, and actors like Alia Bhatt and Ayushmann Khurrana have praised Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga so much.
Love the fact that our Bollywood directors are supporting each other's movies. They have watched it and then posted.
If it is good content, it will pick up at the theatres, when audiences read about genuine praise. Like MVA is doing.
Waiting to hear from other stars too...
So many have supported Aditya Chopra's Alpha (just a trailer, not movie). Can we hear more shoutouts for MVA from our stars? Some refrained from Dhurandhar due to whatever reasons.
Main Vaapas Aaunga is a pure love story which has survived against all odds. Nor is it much about Aman Ki Asha etc.
What is stopping the Bollywood stars now? There are no major top stars in it but just 2 newcomers who are not competition.
What does it take for our stars to celebrate the success of a young girl (Sharvari) and boy (Vedang Raina) who are also not 'nepo kids.' Both pure 'outsiders' who are very talented too.
Watch this movie. Its a masterpiece of a love story. Imtiaz Ali at his best.
@sanjaysuri He says, “I kept myself away from longer commitments. This was a monthlong commitment, and we’ve kept the track open so I can return when required. In cinema too, I’ve mostly been part of socially relevant films. When this show was offered to me, I felt it was relevant”
Joining the TV show #JuhiMui marks a full-circle moment for #SanjaySuri. Having begun his career on television in 1997 before moving to films, the show’s socially relevant theme and limited commitment made it an appealing proposition
