Every time I open up Twitter/X, I tell myself, "I'll attempt something witty to engage with everyone," and then I feel the crushing weight of my WIP & crawl back to it, dragging my overwhelming guilt and shame. Does this happen to anyone else or just me?π

Any other writers ever do this? Lol. I donβt want to think of the name right now so Iβll just come back to it later haha. #WritingCommunity#writersoftwitter
@KT_Carlisle @sangrescribe I agree π Readers enjoy getting into the motivations/fears/desires of each character. Your characters are your connection.
This may sound like classic creative-avoidance, but I have undertaken the enormous task of finally listing out and sorting all of my planned art, book, & comic projects. The mega list is done, but now I am sorting years of research & reference materials scattered throughout my hard drive and devices. It's been a SLOG, but I am finding so much stuff, and my heart is reignited with creative fire π₯
I have yet to publish my sci-fi WIP π but so far I've based holidays around seasonal/celestial eventsβdirect changes to an area or the planet caused by celestial events. Like, some might not realize it, but the earth tilting the northern hemisphere toward the sun one part of the year, and away the other half, is a cyclical celestial event that causes global changes to the entire planet that have inspired many cultural holidays and traditions, and the direct evolution of species. Which I nerd hard about π€
Additionally, one of my largest notes to take away from Star Trek, Star Wars, and even Marvel & DC, is that the worldbuilding within these universes is often limited to an entire planet having the same culture & holidays etc. Whereas, Earth has SO many different cultures and holidays, some so niche they are specific to one small region.
And I know that's not universal to everything in the worldbuilding of those IPS (not all the planets are one culture), but it was common enough that I noted how I'd like to create more diversity in religion and culture in my own space operas πͺ /end rant (sorry for the long reply!)
@JamesGunn@Superman Kryptoooooo!!! My heart beat with the force of cherished childhood memories watching this! And Rachel Brosnahan π You couldn't have cast a better Louis Lane. Thank you so much. I cannot wait to see this.
