Chair @Theirworld & Executive Chair @gbceducation. 'Better Angels with Sarah Brown' podcast. Working to end the global education crisis and to #ActforEarlyYears
the power of imagination and the joy of reading and learning. Dolly Parton leaves that legacy along with all her beautiful music and her catalogue of great quotes. https://t.co/UZn5GPwpA3
a devastating report but important as we can immediately do better for your people in care while there and as/after they leave care - Ashley's next report in a few years' time should show a complete turnaround - no excuses for national or local government.
Months of deep, emotional work. Our review into early care leaver deaths is now live. This report is SO important & tells the story of some of our most vulnerable care experienced young people. Please do read & share. ๐๐ฝโค๏ธ https://t.co/utyoMc2X6I
"Red Thread: My 50-year one-sided love affair with Arsenal" by Sean Macaulay.
My personal memoir of obsessive fandom from 1971 to 2026. From Highbury to Hollywood and bit of Fleet Street in between. Just needed a happy ending, which we certainly got in May.
First two chapters now up on Substack โย all free.
I will publish a chapter a week for the next 10...9...8... weeks counting down to the launch of the podcast.

I've been a journalist and screenwriter for 40 years, and an Arsenal nut for 50 and counting. If all goes well, I will expand into a book called My Arsenal and other Families. Enjoy!

A gracious exit from
no10 this morning, and the arrival of a new PM welcomed in. Ending rough sleeping would be a great achievement on its own and look forward to hearing more of the plans to come for UK wide. Wishing the Burnhams well @downingstreet
Congratulations to my friend Andy Burnham on becoming leader of the Labour Party with a clear mission to transform Britain for the better.
Today, we also thank Keir Starmer for bringing Labour back into government and guiding Britain through difficult times at home and abroad.
Today marks ten years since Jo was killed.
We remember Jo as a mother, sister, daughter, wife, friend, campaigner and public servant. We remember her courage, her compassion, and her belief that we have more in common than that which divides us.

Grenfell 9 years on. My thoughts are with the families and the community who live with loss and hurt every day. My mum has been volunteering there on a project and I hear from her how much pain still exists and how the healing is taking a long long time. https://t.co/yySmcFW9x4
Play is vital for a child's early years development. @theirworld's partner project Thinkzone teaches parents how to create play-based learning games with their children to help their development, in under resourced areas in India. Marking International Day of Play on 11th June.
So saddened by the death of the wonderful, game changing, cultural innovator Kanya King - always admired her determination to champion black music and highlight positive role models, her generous support for other women (including me along the way), and recently, her insistence on bringing health issues to the fore for the black community. Her light still burns brightly.
LGBTQ+ students are dropping out of school across the world. This Pride Month I am reminded of Theirworld's research which found that nearly 1 in 4 LGBTQ+ students in the UK and 1 in 10 in the US are at risk of dropping out of school. LGBTQ+ students deserve a safe place to learn
Listening to the strong words about UK defence spending this week, I was struck when I watched this video by this reminder of all the ways we can defend Britain and step up to help others more vulnerable in the world. Interesting work from veterans at @line_of_defence
As veterans who have served in the British armed forces, we have seen first-hand the value of international aid. Aid is Britain's first line of defence and must be protected.
Please watch, like and share.

a hate crime that harms the Jewish community in North London for sure but actually harms us all. destroying ambulances; attacking a charity - this is really not okay. https://t.co/DLkGRUDwBC
We've crunched the numbers. We hold ourselves to account.
Against the odds, our irrepressible humanitarian community reached 7m people with life-saving help in January.
I hope this stat gives you as much hope and energy as it gives me.
