Children are not just beneficiaries of #WASH programmes—they are partners in creating solutions. At Save the Children, we believe every child has the right to be informed, heard, and involved in decisions that affect their lives. By engaging children in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of water, sanitation and hygiene services, we help ensure that these services are safe, accessible, inclusive, and responsive to their needs.
Through child-led discussions, school health clubs, and community engagement initiatives, children, especially from marginalised communities, share their experiences and ideas, helping shape solutions that work for them and their communities.

For many children, fetching water means walking long distances under the scorching sun, often before and after school.
The time spent searching for water comes at a cost—missed lessons, exhaustion, and increased exposure to safety and protection risks along the way.
This #DayOfTheAfricanChild, we call for collective action to ensure every child has access to safe and accessible water, sanitation and hygiene services. When water is within reach, children spend less time collecting it and more time learning, playing and pursuing their dreams.

Together, let's continue championing children's rights to safe #WASH services and a healthy environment.

The analysis assessed how resources are allocated and utilized to support the delivery of quality healthcare services for mothers, newborns, and children. By promoting accountability, strengthening evidence-based planning, and identifying opportunities for more efficient and equitable investments, the findings will support informed decision-making and improved health outcomes.
The insights generated will help enhance access to quality #MNCH services in Makadara and Kamukunji sub-counties, ensuring that limited resources are directed where they are needed most.
Together with our partners, we remain committed to advancing sustainable health systems and ensuring that every mother, newborn, and child has access to the quality healthcare they need not only to survive, but to thrive. @cfkafrica@MOH_Kenya

Children took center stage by sharing their experiences, presenting recommendations to leaders, and calling for greater investment in services that support their health, dignity, and future.

A Global Call for #ClimateAction starts with empowering children.
At Canaan Primary School inTurkana, members of the 4K Club shared how they are turning knowledge into action—planting trees, protecting natural resources, and promoting environmental stewardship within their school and community. Their efforts demonstrate that climate solutions are most effective when children are placed at the centre of change.
To encourage and celebrate their commitment, we shared climate-themed bags, T-shirts, and educational books carrying messages on climate action and environmental conservation. These resources help reinforce the importance of protecting our planet while empowering children to become advocates for a greener, more sustainable future.
The climate crisis demands collective action, and these young champions are showing that real solutions begin with awareness, education, and action. Together, we can build a safer, healthier, and more resilient world for every child.
