Yesterday I found out that a single landlord owns hundreds of homes and shops in Brixton, including the majority of Brixton market.

Over the last 10 years many people have been driven out of Brixton including shop owners and market traders because of soaring rental costs.

It has massively destroyed the culture Brixton once had and the culture that I remember being surrounded by growing up.

Anyone who lives in Brixton knows Suleiman's Village News. Suleiman, who has been struggling with his health, has been trading in the shop since 2016. He woke up today to find his shop boarded up and surrounded by security.
