Cardiff defence and maul defence has been outstanding tonight. People will talk about Cardiffs attack but their DNA is the Gethin Jenkins defence. On average in the URC this season they average less than 20 points a game conceded.

Player feeling

Disappointed because it was a game we were in and one we could have won if we had been more accurate with the ball.

Coach feeling

From a bigger picture perspective, that was a huge step forward defensively and a dramatic improvement from the first three rounds. Our attacking breakdown and speed of ball were good, and at times we played right on the gain line. Overall, pleased. This Six Nations was never about beating Ireland; it was about building performances and belief within the group to allow us to be competitive long term. Extremely proud of effort and fight would be my overwhelming feeling along with disappointed for the players not to get the result for what they put in to that.

@7Stirling @brettruganalyst I'd have to strongly disagree, you don't go to a drift 6 on 6. If your defence mindset at test level is like that you would drift through a game and finish up 50points down if your lucky.
