I don’t think people realize how absurd this is. Scottish runner Josh Kerr just broke the mile world record in 3:42.66, an average speed of 16.2 mph. Most people couldn’t even briefly reach that speed, let alone sustain it for an entire mile.

My wife and I own Forest Park Pharmacy, and we don't accept insurance. None of it. That decision is exactly why we could fix what happened to a patient today.

A family came in wanting to transfer their kid's antibiotic to us. The child had already STARTED the course. Then, mid-treatment, the insurance company decided the last 14 tablets suddenly needed a "prior authorization" before the other pharmacy could hand them over. A sick kid, halfway through an antibiotic, and the answer was "please hold."

The drug is linezolid. It's a generic. It's been generic for over a decade. It treats serious gram-positive infections — the kind you do NOT want to stop antibiotics in the middle of, because an interrupted course is how you breed resistant bugs and end up right back where you started.

So why the hold-up on a cheap, common generic? Follow the fake math.

Insurance and the PBMs behind them price drugs off a number called AWP — "Average Wholesale Price." People in my industry have another name for it: "Ain't What's Paid." It's a benchmark number, not a real-world cost. On paper, the AWP for just those last 14 tablets is about $2,500.

My cash price for the same 14 tablets? $18.

Read that again. The system that's supposedly "protecting" this family from cost is the same system that inflated an $18 medication into a $2,500 line item, then slapped a prior auth on it to "review the expense" THEY invented. They manufactured the problem, then billed everyone for the privilege of solving it — and made a sick kid wait while they did it.

This is the whole game. When a drug is priced honestly, there's nothing to "manage." When it's priced off a fantasy benchmark, you get spread pricing, PA paperwork, pharmacy phone trees, and delayed treatment — all dressed up as cost control.

Here's the part nobody tells you: roughly 90% of prescriptions are low-cost generics. For the vast majority of what people pick up every day, running it through insurance does two things — raises the real cost and risks delaying your care. That's it. That's the value-add.

That's why we fired the insurance companies. No middleman deciding your kid can't finish their antibiotics on schedule. No fake prices. Just the real number, on the shelf, today.

The medication was always cheap. The insurance was the expensive part.

Drive throughs where the food comes to the car while you sit in it.
Ranch dressing by the gallon.
Tex-Mex that cannot be explained only experienced.
Dental care that actually works.
Buccee’s. There are no words for Buccee’s.

Then they found the grocery stores.

Five of them within one mile.
Each one the size of an aircraft hangar.
Burgers. Steaks. Brisket. Ribs. Pulled pork. Lamb. Veal. Every cut of every animal ever domesticated by human civilization available in one refrigerated aisle at ten in the morning on a Tuesday.

The Germans stood in the meat section for forty five minutes.
In silence.
Processing.

They finally understand why we do not have trains.

We have roads wide enough for the cars we actually drive.
Parking lots the size of small European countries.
Airports in every city worth visiting.

Why would we need trains.

The Germans are taking ranch home by the bottle.
The Dutch found queso and briefly lost the ability to speak.
The Japanese are photographing HEB like it is the Louvre.
The Czechs are weeping in West, Texas.

LET'S EDUCATE PEOPLE WITH ACTUAL NUMBERS....

The media loves headlines about @elonmusk becoming a "trillionaire."

But most people don't understand what that number actually means.

Let's break it down.

If Elon Musk is worth roughly $1 trillion on paper:

❌ It does NOT mean he has $1 trillion in cash.

❌ It does NOT mean he can spend $1 trillion tomorrow.

❌ It does NOT mean the government could simply seize $1 trillion and spend it.

Most of that wealth exists as ownership in companies.

Think about it this way:

If your home is worth $500,000, you don't have $500,000 sitting in your bank account.

You own an asset.

The same principle applies to company shares.

Now let's compare some numbers.

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

The U.S. federal government spends roughly $7 trillion per year.

Even if Elon somehow sold every share he owned tomorrow and turned it all into cash (which is impossible), that money would fund Washington's spending for only about 7 weeks.

Read that again.

7 weeks.

Not years.

Not decades.

7 weeks.

ELON'S 2021 TAX BILL

In 2021 Elon paid approximately $11 billion in federal taxes.

The median American household pays around $2,000-$5,000 annually in federal income taxes depending on income and family situation.

To equal Elon's $11 billion tax bill, you'd need roughly:

✅ 2.2 million households paying $5,000 each

OR

✅ 5.5 million households paying $2,000 each

That's more households than exist in many U.S. states.

JOB CREATION

Tesla employs over 120,000 people globally.

SpaceX employs more than 15,000 people.

X, xAI, Neuralink, and Musk's other companies employ thousands more.

Directly and indirectly, Musk's companies support hundreds of thousands of jobs.

✅ Those workers pay taxes.
✅ Buy homes.
✅ Support local businesses.
✅ Raise families.

That's how wealth circulates through an economy.

WHAT ABOUT "TAX THE BILLIONAIRES"?

Let's do the math.

The U.S. national debt is now over $40 trillion.

Suppose the government somehow confiscated an entire $1 trillion fortune.

That would eliminate only about:

2.5% of the national debt.

The other 97.5% would still be there.

A spending problem cannot be solved by a one-time wealth seizure.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

America has approximately:

🇺🇸 340 million people

🇺🇸 34 million businesses

🇺🇸 A $30+ trillion economy

The reason America became the most prosperous nation in history wasn't because government bureaucrats created wealth.

It was because entrepreneurs, inventors, builders, investors, and workers created wealth.

✔️ The smartphone in your pocket.
✔️ The internet.
✔️ Amazon.
✔️ Google.
✔️ Microsoft.
✔️ Tesla.
✔️ SpaceX.

Most of the technologies that transformed modern life came from capitalist innovation, not socialist central planning.

Yet some politicians act like success itself is the problem.

No.

The problem isn't that America produces billionaires.

The problem is that America isn't producing enough future millionaires.

A healthy economy should create more owners, more investors, more entrepreneurs, and more opportunity.

Because every billionaire started as a millionaire.

Every millionaire started with a first dollar.

And every thriving economy starts by rewarding people who create value for others.

Elon just created 4,400 millionaires in a single day.

400 of them are now worth over $100 million.

These aren't VCs. They're SpaceX employees, and the list includes welders, technicians, and cafeteria staff, because for two decades the company paid every level of the workforce in stock instead of higher salaries.

Juan Hernandez immigrated from Mexico and took a $28 an hour contractor welding job in 2015. He says he didn't even know what SpaceX was. The company gave him a $10,000 equity grant and let him buy more shares through payroll deductions. That stake is now worth $880,000.

Trevor Hise's parents wanted him to take a stable job at General Electric. He picked SpaceX instead, stayed 12 years, and accumulated over 100,000 shares. At the $135 listing price that's $13.5 million. He's 37 and semiretired. His words: "The magnitude of this has been ridiculous."

The most telling detail came before the listing. Over 100 employees quietly banded together and negotiated a group wealth management deal covering up to $5 billion, because none of them had ever needed a wealth manager before.

Software IPOs have minted millionaires for 30 years. This is the first one where the money went to the factory floor.

We send men into marriage with a suit, a speech, and a stag do...then act shocked when they don’t know how to be husbands.

A lot of pain could’ve been avoided by a simple letter like this from their dads the night before the wedding.

At the same time, do not confuse “being loving” with “being weak.” Love needs backbone. You must hold your frame: your dignity, your boundaries, your direction. Some days she will test you—not because she hates you, but because she wants to know whether you can carry weight. She wants to know whether your strength stays when her emotion rises. Meet those moments with warmth and firmness. Speak slowly. Stand tall. Choose clarity over sarcasm. A man who holds the line with kindness becomes trustworthy.

Never tolerate contempt. Never feed it. If she speaks with disrespect, address it quickly and privately. Keep your voice low. Make your boundary clear. Then return to peace. When you allow disrespect, you train the marriage to rot. When you correct it with calm authority, you train the marriage to heal.

Build trust through consistency. Keep your promises. Show up on time. Follow through. A wife relaxes when she knows your “yes” means yes. She will forgive many imperfections if she can rely on your word. Consistency will feel boring to you some days. It will feel like oxygen to her.

Keep courting her after tomorrow. Don’t let the wedding end the pursuit. Keep dating her. Plan. Initiate. Touch her with affection. Speak admiration out loud. A woman blooms under steady cherishing. Romance does not compete with responsibility. Romance fuels it.

When conflict comes, repair quickly. Pride loves delay. Pride loves silence that punishes. Choose humility instead. If you wound her, own it cleanly. Don’t justify. Don’t lecture. Don’t say “I’m sorry you feel that way.” Say, “I was wrong. I’m sorry. I will do better.” Then do better. That is how a man leads: he takes responsibility without theatrics.

Make your home orderly. Create a shared mission. Decide what kind of marriage you want to build: prayerful, joyful, hospitable, disciplined, generous. Talk about money with honesty. Run a budget like a grown man. Learn the practical skills that prevent resentment: planning, chores, logistics, childcare. Don’t “help” in your own home. Own your share. Competence is love made visible.

Now listen carefully about intimacy. Treat it as sacred. Your body will tempt you to take. Your vocation will call you to give. Lead with tenderness. Pursue connection, not release. Communicate. Learn her seasons. Respect her rhythms. Create emotional safety, because intimacy depends on trust. Guard your eyes and imagination like a man guarding a city gate. Porn and lust do not stay in a corner; they spread through a marriage like smoke. Purity gives you strength; strength gives her safety.

Above all, put God at the center. Pray with your wife even when it feels awkward. Go to confession like a man who wants to stay clean. Go to Mass like a man who knows he needs grace. You cannot love her well on willpower alone. Grace will make your sacrifices fruitful. Virtue will make your love stable.

Tomorrow you will speak vows. Speak them like a man laying his life on the altar. Then live them on Tuesday afternoons, on sleepless nights, on hard seasons, and in ordinary hours. Ordinary hours will build your marriage. Ordinary faithfulness will make you great.

I love you. I’m proud of you. Now go and become the husband God calls you to be.
