๐ณ๐ด๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟNorway vs England tonight. English fans will spend 90 minutes shouting in a language full of our words.
The Angles who gave England its name sailed from the Jutland peninsula, right next door to us. Four centuries later, Norse settlers crossed the same sea and took the north and east of England.
The evidence never left. They, them and their are Old Norse words. So are sky, egg, knife and anger. Window comes from vindauga, wind-eye.
And more than 600 English place names end in -by. Grimsby. Derby. Whitby. By is still the Norwegian word for town.
In Norwegian, the word "ro" means both to row and to be at peaceโa fitting reflection of Norway's seafaring traditions and breathtaking fjords that inspire us.
On behalf of the entire Viking family across our fleet, good luck to our partners the Norwegian Football Association and the Norwegian national team as they face off in the quarter-finals on the world stage today.
Onwards, and heia Norge! ๐ณ๐ดโ

As England and Norway play in the World Cup quarter final, itโs time to remember when Norwegian radio commentator Bjรธrge Lillelien delivered one of the most iconic commentaries of all time after Norway beat England 2-1 in a World Cup qualifying match in Oslo back in 1981:
"We have beaten England! Lord Nelson. Lord Beaverbrook. Sir Winston Churchill. Sir Anthony Eden. Clement Attlee. Henry Cooper. Lady Diana. We have beaten all of them!
Maggie Thatcher, can you hear me? Maggie Thatcher...Your boys took a hell of a beating! Your boys took a hell of a beating!"

The new Scotland manager needs to cap Robbie Ure in Slovenia on 26 Sept. Scored 11 goals in 11 league games for Sirius in Sweden. Age 22, qualifies for Ukraine through a grandparent. SFA can't afford to overlook goalscoring No.9s like this.

@MrMacFunn@murraystep26506 Doak is an anomaly though. Many more boys who make the move at a similar age donโt reach the level expected of them than those who do.
In the end the decision is up to the players however, we think the decision is made too easy because of a lack of pathway
Just one of a few posts to come up on our feed tonightโฆ
Something has to change in Scottish football to prevent young players from feeling the need to move down south. More pressure must be put on clubs to play them. Best way to do that is to pressure SFA and SPFL to change the rulesโฆ
Time to scrap the youth system. Not a first team player since Tierney 10 years ago. Every prospect we have now fecks off to England at the first opportunity. Use the money to buy best Scottish players. This will also keep cash in the Scottish game.
FIFA are in talks to make the 2029 Club World Cup in Qatar during winter and increase it to 48 teams. ๐คฏ
This would put a pause to club football for a short period ๐ณ
Egyptian players say Argentina game was rigged, FA demands formal investigation - Inside World Football Thoughts?
Does it all come down to VAR or lack of VAR interventions? Think McGinn v Morocco as another example?
Given the pain of VAR in our top flight.... less intervention feels so much better? Or does it?

@Coachduncan@Macca1972@AandrewJja38648@Diggers71@ICTFC Exactly. A lack of pathway. Hickey did well to make an impressive career for himself. Too many players donโt. Thereโs a serious lack of pathway in Scottish clubs
To add to this we have just seen reports that Kerr Smith is on trial at @ICTFC. 67% of his first team appearances in professional football came for Dundee United before moving to Aston Villa. Youโd have thought had he stayed at Dundee United he couldโve been a top quality player as he would get minutesโฆ
@FP_Scotland@JimSpenceDundee
Taking the piss at this point. Understand itโs a great financial opportunity for the boys going down south however clubs up here need to do more to show thereโs a serious pathway. National team is gonna suffer as majority of these boys get lost in the Academy systems and donโt fulfill their potential
@TheDailyArab83@lynneictfan@ICTFC Agreed. Luke Graham did it the right way imo. Reportedly down a trial at Sheffield United after his loan at Lochee as well
As an organisation we discussed Alfie Osborne leaving Hearts. Given he moved to Chelsea and was reportedly chased by Barcelona, you would have thought he could have been involved in preseason and possibly make some first team appearances this summer. I say this as someone who hasnโt watched him though. Do you think he was good enough to make his debut this season?

๐จ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ Liverpool have sealed deal to sign Scotland U16 captain Dara Jikiemi from Celtic, here we go!
Jikiemi has signed paperwork on Sunday to join #LFC on a 5 year contract. ๐ด๐ค๐ฟ
@TheDailyArab83@lynneictfan@ICTFC Do you think they could have been good enough had they been given more opportunities or if Smith had stayed would he have been good enough then? Or do you think United were correct to take the money?
We are bothered when all clubs lose a youngster. Had we seen the Fletcher Boyd posts first we would have put the exact same message out. The mass exodus of our youth talent is an issue. We put up another post discussing Kerr Smith and his lack of minutes since moving down south. Thereโs dozens of examples of this. More needs done by the authorities to prevent this
