Without this question, would Christ have made this statement? Even if He hadn’t have said it, it would still be true, but it was Thomas’s question that spurred the answer we now all get to read. Questions are okay. Questions are important for revelation.

The inverse of this must also be true - if ye love not one another, ye are not my disciples. To be counted as a disciple of Christ, we must love each other

The root represents the covenant that God makes with his people, the fruit. The covenant is a means to an end, not the end itself. God’s children returning to Him is what He cares about. The covenant serves that end.

Moroni 9:3 Of all things, Satan stirs up the people to anger. Not adultery, not robbery, not murder. But anger. He could've stirred them up to hatred and they would've ended up killing each other anyway, but he just stirred them up to anger and let the rest take care of itself.
