◼️|Can budget FY 27 help accelerate Pakistan’s digital growth?|◼️
🔹To unlock Pakistan's digital growth, future budgets must prioritize structural reforms over short-term revenue collection. Advancing the IT sector requires dedicated frameworks for digital trade, upskilling initiatives, and modernizing cybersecurity and data protection.

🔹Social protection should be a springboard, not just a safety net. It’s time for BISP to graduate beneficiaries from cash assistance to sustainable livelihoods through vocational training, entrepreneurship, and targeted women-led enterprise support.

🔹Pakistan doesn’t lack growth strategies; it lacks effective implementation. Economic growth won’t translate into public welfare until we end frequent bureaucratic transfers, embrace digital governance, and empower strong local governments.

🔹The 18th Amendment is a hard-earned constitutional consensus, not a simple law to be rolled back. Instead of squeezing provincial autonomy to fix federal fiscal gaps, the federal govt must cut its own wasteful spending and finish devolution.

◼️SDPI's Post Budget Analysis ◼️
🔹On @PakTVGlobal show Unfold, @ArmughanFareeha (Head Center of Evidence Action Research, SDPI) analyses the FY2026-27 budget. While it aligns with the IMF for stabilization, she notes critical adjustments for the salaried class:
🔸Tax slabs for 5.2M–7.2M income bracket reduced to 32%.
🔸Prior slabs reduced down to 25%.
🔸A 7% increase in government salaries and pensions.
🔹She warns that regressive petroleum levies burden all consumers and urges a shift from a stabilization budget to a growth budget by expanding manufacturing and enforcing agricultural income tax.

Dr. @Abidsuleri 4D analysis of Pakistan's Budget FY2026-27 tells a stark story:
💰 Revenue: Rs11.8 trillion
📈 Debt servicing: Rs8.1 trillion
🛡️ Defence: Rs3.0 trillion
🏛️ Running government: Rs2.7 trillion
🤝 Grants & subsidies: Rs3.8 trillion
Result? Nearly 69% of net federal revenue goes to interest payments alone, while Pakistan still needs to borrow Rs7 trillion to finance the budget gap.
