Just got back from Tokyo. To NYC. It's hard to avoid the blindingly obvious truth--NY tax dollars are disgustingly wasted. It's shocking, the state of the City considering it's budget. You could "tax the rich" into bankruptcy and it wouldn't fix the MTA, which carries approximately the same ridership as the Tokyo Metro but has a budget 5.5x larger than Tokyo's. I mean the answer isn't dollars, it's actually just a question of efficiency. And NYC's government is corrupt, bloated, and the poster child of inefficiency.
If you’re gonna ask me for a networking call please be funny and ready to talk ball. I don’t care why you’re interested in investment banking or private equity I wanna know who you think the Patriots should take at pick 31 next week
Former #AZCardinals G Evan Brown, who was released late this week, lands quickly with the #Texans on a 1-year deal for up to $3.5M, per The Insiders.
Deal negotiated by Sean Kiernan & Tommy Povinelli from @AthletesFirst.
A paradox I can’t get over in light of this stuff: you need junior employees to do repetitive tasks for you, the more senior expert. If you totally automate it, your need for the juniors vanishes
However, you were once a junior doing those tasks, and you were trained through them to get to where you are. If that path is cut out entirely, where will the senior technical experts come from?
Something has to be done. College football has to end sooner. We don’t need 2-3 weeks between the end of the season and the playoffs starting. Jan 1 end is ideal. Max one week later. Push the season up. Get the games played. We continue to do things that don’t make any sense.
Really excited to share an exclusive interview with former SMU OL @CameronErvin54 !
Cam tells a unique story about his time at SMU that started off as a walk on and is a great asset and advocate for SMU Football!

I only take the 7am flight - or better yet 6 or 5am if they have them. The planes are almost always without delay. You get to your destination with most of the day still ahead of you. Everyone on the plane is quiet and respectful. There's really no downside here
Kevin Jennings is going to be one of the best QBs in the country next year. He's taken a good step forward this season while battling several injuries. When he's on, he's elite.
SMU Coach Rhett Lashlee celebrating the big win at the infamous Katy Trail Icehouse.
Coach Lashlee just got his top 10 win and a top 10 paying job. I’d say it is has been a fairly good week for him.
I want to say this.. @BillyEmbody said that Kevin Jennings needed to have a legacy game for SMU to win vs Miami and I truly feel he did just that today. #PonyUp
Normally I make fun of G5 schools that move up to the P4 level and act like they can become a football power overnight.
Don't forget, SMU was a football power before all of that stuff happended. They are simply returning where they used to be. In time, all will see it.
"I used to see guys sitting at the bar by themselves eating and I used to feel so bad for them and now I realize that dude was in heaven."
Not many of us can relate with being on a new team, in a new city, without our family, but many of us can relate to this.
This is what NYC feels like when you’re young and just out of school and working at an office where people generally live a short train ride away. The city is small, your friends are close, and the city is a museum, playground, and source of inspiration wrapped into one.
The office part matters imo. You can meet your best friends or your partner at your first office job. To be young and working hard in the trenches together and also celebrating and making real friendships IRL is an important part of it all - professional camaraderie, personal development, how to function in the world, etc, and a lot of it has been wrecked a bit by WFH.
Let's see who the winning head coach was in the last six Skillet games...
