France 🇫🇷 names its new generation, nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, France Libre, after the government-in-exile and the resistance movement during WWII
France Libre.
"Indonesia’s navy has intensified anti-access and anti-area denial (A2/AD) exercises... part of a broader push to tighten maritime law enforcement."
TNI-AL gives a whole new meaning to concept of A2/AD by applying it to non-traditional marsec issues. https://t.co/LXZeS0Tu8e
⚠️ Four soldiers (one Captain, two 1st Lts, and a Sgt) have been arrested and named suspects in the acid attack on activist Andrie Yunus. All of them serve in the Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS)
The key questions now are who ordered the attack and whether the activist was targeted mainly for criticising the military

Indonesia should keep the option of withdrawal open, particularly if participation risks inconsistency with its legal obligations.
If Indonesia seeks to uphold its multilateral commitments, it should allocate greater efforts toward UN-based mechanisms rather than participating in an exclusive arrangement. UN frameworks provide more avenues for agenda-setting and the right to challenge even the most powerful country.
Re-centering diplomacy within established multilateral institutions would better safeguard Indonesia’s legal credibility and foreign policy consistency.
Indonesia's membership of the Board of Peace could potentially violate its international legal obligations by maintaining unlawful occupation. Insightful analysis by @CSISIndonesia's Farhan Julianto 👏

Fulcrum Commentary by @IanJStorey - Indonesia’s plans to acquire a second-hand aircraft carrier from Italy have been derided. The warship is more a symbol of Indonesia’s global aspirations than an operational asset for the country’s navy.

Our deepest condolences on the passing of LTG (Ret.) Agus Widjojo, a highly respected reformist whose contributions helped shape a more professional and democratic Indonesian Military
Among Indonesian security scholars, his words and wisdom will continue to be heard and reflected upon for years to come
Rest easy, General. We have the watch 🥀🙏
From @DrAlexArifianto: “The treaty intends to develop mutual trust between Indonesia 🇮🇩 and Australia 🇦🇺 and encourage leaders of each nation to communicate with the other in good faith … is aimed at preventing diplomatic surprises and their potential fallout.” #ausdef
I am pleased to inform you that my latest article entitled: "The Australia - Indonesia Treaty of Common Security: Strengthening Trust Between Two Regional Partners" was recently published at IDSS Paper. @RSIS_NTU

Australia 🇦🇺 and Indonesia 🇮🇩 turn momentum into a concrete treaty—but Indonesia stays true to its nonaligned roots. What does this mean for regional security and AUS-Indo ties? My take for @LowyInstitute's Interpreter: https://t.co/754zvu0Esu

"consult on potential unilateral or joint responses if either or both countries' security is threatened"
The odds of TNI joining the Second Great Emu War have significantly increased
Pangkalan Angkatan Laut Garden Island, Sydney, Australia, 12 November 2025.
For Indonesia, it sits comfortably within its DNA of non-alignment and multi-alignment. For Australia, it’s about shaping regional partnerships on its own terms. Trust, not treaties alone, is the real deterrent. #ververesearch
More to follow.
President Prabowo and PM Albanese today signed a landmark Australia–Indonesia Security Treaty—Prabowo’s first visit to Australia as Indonesian leader. Coming so soon after the 2024 DCA, it shows how fast ties are deepening. #ververesearch 1/ 🧵
It also signals Australia’s regional posture—as embedded in Southeast Asia, not just aligned with a “great and powerful friend.” Expect more frank discussions on operations, airspace, and maritime issues. #ververesearch 3/
