Eko Flavours has called on businesses, investors and policymakers to recognize gastronomy as one of Nigeria’s most promising yet under-leveraged economic growth sectors, capable of generating value across agriculture, hospitality, tourism, entrepreneurship, manufacturing and the creative economy.
The call was made during the World Gastronomy Day Stakeholder Dinner convened by the Ministry of Agriculture and food systems @lagosagric1 in partnership with the @CulinaraGroup (Eko Flavours @theekoflavours) in collaboration with @MIPAD100, bringing together leaders from government, the private sector, hospitality, agriculture, media, culinary institutions and the investment community to explore strategies for unlocking the economic potential of Nigeria’s gastronomy ecosystem.
The event focused on a critical question: How can Nigeria transform its rich culinary heritage and food ecosystem into a globally competitive industry that drives inclusive economic growth? 🥙
Much of the discourse we encounter here is born of quiet desperation. It is from this hidden turmoil that self-doubt emerges, compelling many to cast their own unresolved shadows onto others. 🪴
ADESegun OLUSEGUN OMOTAYO AWOSANYA: THE MAN WHO REFUSED TO LOOK AWAY
Some people use social media for entertainment. Some use it for influence. A few use it as a tool for service.
Adesegun Olusegun Omotayo Awosanya, better known to millions as Segalink (@segalink ), belongs firmly to the third category.
Born on February 11, 1976, Segun Awosanya is a Nigerian human rights advocate, realtor, business strategist, technology enthusiast, and founder of the Social Intervention Advocacy Foundation (SIAF). A graduate of Estate Management from the University of Lagos, he has also built an impressive career in technology, media, branding, and strategic consulting.
But long before activism became fashionable on social media, Segalink had already chosen a difficult path:
Standing up for people he did not know.
For many Nigerians, especially young people, the name Segalink became synonymous with the fight against police brutality. Through the now historic #EndSARS and #ReformPoliceNG advocacy campaigns, he helped amplify the voices of victims, facilitated interventions, engaged institutions, and pushed for reforms within the criminal justice system.
Love him or disagree with him, one thing is undeniable:
He has never been afraid to engage difficult conversations.
Over the years, he has intervened in countless cases involving injustice, extortion, abuse of power, and citizen distress. Many Nigerians who had nowhere else to turn found an ally in a man they had never met physically.
His timeline is not always an easy place.
It challenges.
It provokes.
It debates.
Sometimes it unsettles.
But perhaps that is the burden of advocacy.
Because advocacy, by its very nature, is rarely comfortable.
Beyond activism, Oga Sega is also a mentor, public speaker, entrepreneur, and an unapologetic believer in civic responsibility, justice, peace, and institutional reform. His influence in Nigeria's digital civic space has earned him recognition both locally and internationally. He also served on the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality and the Lekki Incident, further demonstrating his commitment to institutional engagement.
He's a Human Rights Advocate, A Strategist, A Reformer and among all a Nation Builder.
To Segun Awosanya, thank you for years of advocacy, civic engagement, and service to humanity.
History often remembers those who refused to remain silent when silence was easier.
And whether one agrees with all your positions or not, few can deny that you have left an indelible mark on Nigeria's civic and digital landscape.
The Advocate.
The Reformer.
The Voice.
Nigeria's story of digital activism cannot be told without mentioning Segalink. 🇳🇬

Control gives us the illusion of safety. None of us can protect ourselves from pain, rejection and disappointment. Release yourself from unnecessary burden. Let people be. 🪴
I don’t know if you’ve noticed that people are now moving back to wired EarPods with USB-C. No charging required and no loss of signal due to Bluetooth latency. The more things change… 🤷🏽♂️
Stop wasting your time on things you can’t control. Bending over backward won’t let anyone like you more. Shrinking yourself in order to belong will only keep you frustrated and unfulfilled. 🪴
