Mind is evolution's most brilliant traps. It gives us enough consciousness to perceive infinity, but organizes experience through division. We can imagine the whole while living as fragments. This tension is why human existence feels simultaneously immense & unbearable
@AbhiRaama22 I think hardware is now the slower loop. Models, RL, & simulation are improving on software timescales. Actuators, transmissions, batteries, sensing, & manufacturing are not. We are getting much better robot brains faster than we are getting better robot bodies.
Robotics started with geometry: Where am I? Where is the object? What trajectory reaches it?
Then came learning: what action maps observation to reward?
The next question is bigger: What kind of world am I in?
Robotics is slowly moving from motion → behavior → understanding.
A fleet of 10M robots shouldn't upload everything. The interesting architecture is selective:
predict → measure surprise → upload only high-information trajectories → retrain world model → redistribute weights
Bandwidth follows epistemic uncertainty.
A robot fleet could become something stranger than distributed training. Each body explores a different slice of reality. Their experiences update one shared model. The intelligence lives in the loop: fleet→experience →model→fleet
The biggest robotics dataset may not be built. It may be lived. Millions of robots will continuously generate trajectories: vision, force, actions, failures, recoveries. Aggregate that experience and robotics gets something the web gave language models: a corpus of reality
Most robot policies ask: what action should I take next? A world model asks a stranger question: what happens 2 seconds, 20 seconds, or 2 minutes later? That changes planning. The hard problem is not predicting the next frame. It is keeping imagined futures physically coherent
The sim-to-real gap in robotics exists because we build a simulator, then ask reality to resemble it. World models suggest the reverse. Let the robot continuously learn dynamics from reality - then use simulation as a prior
Every fixed personality is eventually too small for reality. The goal is to become inwardly vast enough that personality can keep evolving without threatening your sense of being
Stillness without action can become withdrawal. Action without stillness can become agitation. The greater possibility is action emerging from stillness.
In Sanatan Dharma the concept of समर्पण is not just surrender. The paradox of surrender is: the smaller self experiences it as loss of control while the deeper self experiences it as release from control. In समर्पण what disappears is not power - but the compulsion to possess it
The ego wants two contradictory things. It wants to be unique. And it wants its uniqueness validated by everyone else.
Real individuality needs neither. It can become more distinct precisely because it no longer needs separation to prove that it exists
True unity does not merely tolerate difference - it requires difference. If the Infinite can express itself endlessly, then another person's uniqueness is not an obstacle to unity. It is evidence of its abundance
Compromise says: take half of each side.
Integration says: discover the truth that makes both sides possible.
The deepest contradictions are not always solved by choosing between them. Sometimes they are solved by outgrowing the level on which they contradict each other.
We usually experience action as reaction. Something happens - anger appears, thought races, ego responds & then habit takes over. Then we say, "I chose". A surprising amount of what we call choice is simply conditioning moving fast enough to feel like a decision.
