Democrat, State Senator for MD's 46th. Former teacher, Balt Pub Schs. Husband, father of 2. Maintained by Citizens for Bill Ferguson | Chris Madaio, Treasurer
Less than 40 days until the June 23rd Primary, and yes, campaign season is officially in full swing. You might be seeing a few more mailers, getting a few more knocks at your door, and hearing a little more from me over the next few weeks.
I'm going to be talking about what we've delivered for this community — and what's still at stake. I'm excited to share our first ad with you today.
10 days until Election Day. This race is about who shows up for Baltimore families and who has the courage to stand up when it matters. This session we cut energy bills, protected immigrant families, invested in our schools, and pushed back against Washington. The work is not done.
No wading in. 10 days, jumping all in. Let's go.
Proud to have the support of States Attorney Ivan Bates. Ivan knows what it takes to keep our communities safe and he understands that real public safety means both holding people accountable and investing in the conditions that prevent crime in the first place. We share a vision for a Baltimore where every neighborhood is safe, every family is protected, and justice means something. Grateful for his endorsement and proud to stand alongside him.
AGAIN ICE terrorized our community this morning, sending agents to a 46th District school. This time during a Pre-k graduation ceremony.
Nothing else matters if families don't feel safe. We will not backdown and will continue fighting this lawless administration, especially when that lawlessness threatens kids and families at schools.
Early voting starts today, Thursday, June 11th and runs through June 18th. Polls are open every day from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM at nine locations across Baltimore City.

Tomorrow, early voting begins in Baltimore City. Seven days, nine locations, open every day from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. No excuses, just you and your ballot.
This primary matters. The work we have done this session to cut energy bills, protect immigrant families, invest in our schools, and stand up to the Trump Administration does not happen without the right people in office. Your vote is how we keep that work going.
Tomorrow. Seven days. Go vote.

When a neighbor takes the time to share what investing in our schools and has meant to their family, it reminds me exactly why I fight so hard in Annapolis. Every dollar we put into public education is a statement about the kind of community we want to be. I am grateful for the trust this district has placed in me and I will never stop working to earn it.
Happy Pride Month! Every June, we celebrate Maryland’s LGBTQ+ community and reaffirm our commitment to a State where every resident can live openly and safely. Maryland is strongest when dignity guides our work and every neighbor knows they belong.
Proud to have the endorsement of Attorney General Anthony Brown. At a moment when the Trump Administration is attacking our rights, undermining our institutions, and coming after our communities, Anthony Brown has been on the front lines fighting back every single day. That is exactly the kind of partnership Maryland needs right now. When the Senate and the Attorney General are standing together, we are a lot harder to push around. Grateful for his support and proud to stand alongside him.
Baltimore has fought for generations to get its fair share of resources, and for too long this city has been overlooked and underinvested. Getting real resources into Baltimore neighborhoods, investing in the institutions and people that make this city run, that is the job. I am grateful for the trust this community has placed in me and I will never stop fighting to make sure Baltimore gets what it deserves.
If you are going to exercise authority over people in our communities, you should have to show your face. This session we passed legislation banning the use of face coverings during routine law enforcement activities. No more masked agents showing up in our neighborhoods without identifying themselves. Transparency is not too much to ask. It is the bare minimum in a free society.
This is why I show up.
Ms. Jackie in Cherry Hill has been watching — and I'm grateful she's in my corner. When a constituent takes the time to share that they have seen me, talked to me, and felt heard, that means more than any poll or endorsement. See you at the polls on our before June 23rd.
Don't believe everything you see online, folks.
Proud to have earned the endorsement of AFSCME Local 44. The public employees they represent show up every day to serve Baltimore and I will always show up for them in Annapolis. Grateful for their support.
15 miles. Curtis Bay to Eastwood. Every neighborhood in between.
Luke Clippinger and I spent time last week walking the entire 46th District — stopping at new schools, community health centers, senior housing, parks, rec centers, and a lot of front stoops along the way. From the South Baltimore Community Land Trust to Patterson High School to everything in between, it was a reminder of how much we have all built together. And how much is still left to do.
Finding an affordable place to live is a challenge for too many Maryland families right now. This Session we took real steps to change that.
We are making it easier and less expensive to build housing in Maryland, bringing down the cost of homes and rent.
Fewer barriers. More predictability. Real investment in our communities.
Building a Maryland where everyone can afford to live is not optional. It is essential.
Honored to have the endorsement of Senator Chris Van Hollen. Chris has been one of the loudest and most fearless voices in Washington standing up to the Trump Administration, fighting for immigrant families, and making clear that no one gets to trample the Constitution on his watch. That is the kind of leadership Maryland deserves at every level of government. I am proud to stand alongside him and grateful for his support.
Thank you to Planned Parenthood of Maryland.
I've been proud to stand with Planned Parenthood advocates as a reproductive health champion for years, because the most personal decisions belong to the individual, not a politician, a court, or an insurance company.
We wrote reproductive freedom into Maryland's Constitution, and I'll never stop protecting it. A daughter born today should never grow up with fewer rights than her mother had.
This year, the Maryland General Assembly continued to protect MDers' health.
Thanks to champions like Senate President Bill Ferguson & Speaker of the House of Delegates Joseline Peña-Melnyk, MDers can make decisions about care that are backed in science, not misinformation.
No kid can learn when they are hungry, and Missy has made it her mission to make sure no child has to sit in a classroom on an empty stomach. When people like Missy show up for Baltimore kids the way she does, it makes this work feel worthwhile. I am grateful for her support and proud to stand alongside someone who cares this much about our children.
Proud to have earned the endorsement of the Regional Council of Carpenters. These are the skilled tradespeople who build our communities with their hands every single day. I will always fight to make sure the people doing that work are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. Grateful for their support.
Every teacher I know will tell you the same thing. The moment a phone comes out, learning stops.
The Maryland Phone-Free Schools Act requires every school district to develop a policy keeping phones out of the classroom — so kids can focus, connect with their classmates, and actually be present in the room.
Our teachers have been asking for this for years. Our kids are worth that investment.
Proud to have earned the endorsement of the Humane World Action Fund. I’ve achieved 100% on every Humane World legislative scorecard from my time in the Senate because I know how we treat animals reflects the kind of community we want to be. We made significant progress on limiting animal testing in the 2026 Session thanks to their partnership, and I’m grateful for their support.
