Senate Republicans are blocking Senate Democrats’ efforts to permanently ban Donald Trump’s corrupt $2 billion slush fund and IRS sweetheart deal.
@SenAlexPadilla: “If our Republican colleagues will not join Democrats to address this, I guarantee you the American people will.”
I just went to the Senate floor to force Republicans on the record.
They sided with Trump’s insurrectionist army and his corrupt IRS tax exemption scheme instead of hardworking American families.
While Americans are paying more for health care, gas, groceries, and energy, Trump is taking more than $300 million taxpayer dollars and forcing it toward his vanity ballroom project.
After spending about a billion tax dollars a day on his illegal war with Iran, Trump is now agreeing to a $300 BILLION Iran reconstruction fund?
The more we learn about this “deal,” the worse it becomes.
This is an absolute tragedy.
I'm grateful for the first responders on the scene, and my thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those whose lives were lost in this horrific incident.
Trump says he "loves" inflation.
We can tell.
Since he took office, people in Hawaii are paying $872 MORE for housing, $310 MORE for groceries, and $263 MORE for gas.
$4,100 MORE because Trump prioritizes anything but lowering costs for Americans.
Trump is concealing costs for his corrupt gold-plated ballroom—now ballooning to $600 million—as he tries to hoodwink taxpayers into footing the bill. https://t.co/oc7DD2njge
There is a very common playbook leaders use when they fear they are going to lose an election. I break down how President Trump is following that authoritarian playbook.
Heartbroken for the eight brave servicemembers who perished in today's crash at Edwards Air Force Base in California. Their service to our nation can never be repaid, but we owe it to them and their families to try.
Dreamers were brought here as children and only know the United States as their home.
They serve in our military, work at our schools, serve as police, own businesses, & care for patients as nurses.
We need to pass the Dream Act and give DACA recipients clear legal status.
The administration says we can afford $70 billion more for ICE and Border Patrol. So why can't we afford to process work applications for DACA recipients? Or a path to citizenship?
Here's the thing: of course we can.
14 years ago, DACA was established to provide protection and safety for young people who came here as children and know no other home.
Dreamers are under attack by the President. Congress must create a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers and fix our broken immigration system.
Today marks 14 years since President Obama created the DACA program. DACA has helped thousands of Dreamers achieve a better future by allowing them to go to school, build careers, and give back to our communities.
But the truth is, it was never meant to last this long without a permanent solution. As we commemorate 14 years of DACA, I remain committed to fighting for the Dream Act and the pathway to citizenship Dreamers have earned.
Hoy DACA cumple 14 años. A cada Dreamer que ha creado una vida aquí, que fue a la escuela aquí, que ha trabajado y servido aquí: ustedes son estadounidenses en todo lo que de verdad cuenta. Este país es de ustedes.
Since 2012, DACA has been one of America’s most successful immigration policies. Dreamers have built careers, started businesses, paid taxes, and raised families in the only country many have ever called home. They contribute nearly $17 billion to our economy each year. Dreamers deserve permanent protection and a pathway to stay in the communities they help strengthen every day. #DACA #HomeIsHere
