@siento@simongerman600 You're joking, right? The DUI penalties in Europe are a joke compared to the US where there are mandatory license revocations, jail sentences and fines, plus a permanent record. In Europe, it's a slap on the wrist for all but the worst repeat offenders.
@simongerman600 Notice that the lowest rates in the US coincide with places with the highest concentration of public transport, and compare to Europe.
Car deaths are higher in the US because Americans spend far more time in their car leading to higher death probability.
@ArmeniaTrader@simongerman600 European countries generally have higher speed limits than US ones. 120 km/h or even 130 km/h is the norm in Europe where in the US, it's 105 or 110 km/h except in the ultra rural parts of the West where it's 130 km/h (and it's normal not to see other cars for long stretches).
@IrishAnglican01@JJansaSDS Free Palestine from what? Hamas? Corruption? A national policy built on death and destruction over peace and prosperity? The binding land sales made by Arabs to European Jews over a century ago?
You need to be more specific.
@IA_Quijote So why do so many Spaniards complain about the cost of living and not having enough money to do what they'd like to and that the government, despite being the only real stable form of employment is so badly inefficient?
@BcnValue@USembassyMadrid So you don't think the Jewish people have a right to a sovereign state in their historical spiritual homeland on property the lawfully bought from Arabs?
@SimplezasNo@USembassyMadrid Businesses in Spain can't discriminate on religious grounds. Also the fact you consider antizionsim and antisemitism as synonymous is pretty telling, although completely on brand for hate-filled people.
@MiaLegidoQ@Eve_Barlow You don't know the meaning of the words you're writing there.
You understand that if you support a two-state solution (like most reasonable people, including many Israelis and Palestinians, do), it makes you a Zionist, right?
@AllanSKF@redrovera1@Acyn Why not? What's the issue with living near a data center? Chances are most people are living by one already and don't even know it...
@RTD8690@redrovera1@Acyn The US is not building more than China.
AI is clearly the future of the economy. Not building these at scale will make everyone poorer (as we're seeing unfold in Europe).
@AnonymousLeftie You're conveniently leaving out how much Europe's manufacturing base has been shrinking the past 15 years due to poor energy and foreign policies.
The difference is that the US replaced its manufacturing with high value services and software whereas Europe didn't.
@l1vingtribuna1@MarFel2022@Noahpinion Plenty of homes in the United States are made out of brick including cinder block cores. That's at all income levels.
@BocataJamonEHM@MarFel2022@Noahpinion You can't possibly think that everything inside a European house is fireproof... But then again you're likely a product of the Spanish public education system (also, build the right way in Spain ππππ)
