The Exo cars are currently in Massena, NY!

The Massena Line is a 220-mile rail corridor that runs between Valleyfield (southwest of Montreal, Quebec) and Woodard, New York (near Syracuse) passing through Massena, NY.

Coach cars from Exo are en route from Montreal, Quebec to #SEPTA!

The cars will be overhauled upon arrival at Frazer Yard to work with the push/pull locomotives in our fleet.

The vehicles were purchased earlier this year with funds from the $220M in additional capital dollars allocated by Governor Josh Shapiro in November 2025 to support urgent safety upgrades and infrastructure improvements.

The Exo cars will bolster our fleet and join the ten railcars leased from Maryland Area Regional Commuter Rail (MARC) last December.

Southbound trains on Warminster, West Trenton, and Lansdale/Doylestown are terminating at Fern Rock Station with passengers directed to the B for access to Center City. Northbound trains are terminating at Suburban Station.

Riders should expect delays of up to 20 minutes while repairs are underway.

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) awarded #SEPTA $80 million in federal All Stations Accessibility Program (ASAP) funding to make three stations in the Center City Trolley Tunnel fully accessible. ASAP provides discretionary funding for projects that retrofit or upgrade rail stations to ensure that all public areas are accessible to people with disabilities including those who use a mobility device.

ASAP funding will allow SEPTA to construct accessibility improvements at 22nd St, 33rd St, and 36th St T Stations which are located in the Center City Trolley Tunnel. These stations were originally built in 1955 and are only accessible via stairs which prevents individuals with disabilities requiring the use of a mobility device, families with strollers, or anyone who is physically unable to use stairs from traveling to and from these destinations.

The projects will bring the stations into full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Each station will be retrofitted with elevators connecting street level to the underground boarding areas. Raised platforms and other enhancements will also be constructed to accommodate the new fleet of low-floor streetcars that SEPTA is procuring as part of Trolley Modernization.

This is SEPTA’s second ASAP grant. The Authority was previously awarded $56 million to support ADA station improvement projects at five Metro stations. SEPTA became the first transit agency in the nation to advance to construction on an ASAP-funded project at Erie Station on the B. SEPTA broke ground last month on a $44 million ASAP-funded accessibility project at 11th St Station on the L.

Ensuring that every customer can access transit service that is safe, clean and reliable is a core part of SEPTA’s mission. Station accessibility projects like those this grant will fund are critically important to that effort. We thank our Congressional delegation for establishing this vital program and working to support our application. And we are grateful for the FTA’s confidence in our program in awarding this grant.
