President @Isaac_Herzog welcomed to Jerusalem a delegation of the Consul Generals to New York of the Czech Republic, Romania, and Greece led by Consul General @Ofir_Akunis together with the @WorldJewishCong.
President Herzog thanked them for their countries' friendship with Israel and for visiting at this time to see firsthand the reality on the ground.
The World Jewish Congress convened leaders of major Jewish communities in New York on Tuesday evening for a high-level discussion on rising antisemitism and ways to strengthen international coordination against it.

Sen. John Fetterman and Congresswoman Elise Stefanik have defied the mob by standing unapologetically and unequivocally in defense of the State of Israel and the Jewish people.
When others were silent โ or worse, when some in Congress sided with terror groups murdering Jewish men, women, and children โ @JohnFetterman and @EliseStefanik raised their voices loudly and clearly against the storm engulfing our nation and the world.
Iโm honored to present them with the @WorldJewishCongโs highest honor, the Theodor Herzl Award.

I had the opportunity to have a first meeting with Syriaโs President Ahmed al-Sharaa on the sidelines of last weekโs UNGA.
We had a very positive discussion about normalization between Israel and Syria.
โAmerica deserved 9/11.โ Those are the vile words of Hasan Piker.
Zohran Mamdani calls him a friend. Walks him around New York, appears on his shows, and embraces him even after those disgusting comments.
And to this day, Mamdani refuses to condemn them. That silence says it all.
The State Department was honored to host @WorldJewishCong leaders from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico this week for an important conversation about safeguarding Jewish communities across the hemisphere and around the world. @StateDept_NEA@WHAAsstSecty@USUN@UnderSecStateJ photo credit: Shahar Azran/WJC.
Ronald Lauder, the President of the World Jewish Congress and one of the biggest donors in the world of Jewish advocacy, Holocaust remembrance, and pro-Israel causes, is in Qatar, and was present in the receiving line to greet President Trump and the Emir.
Lauder, a billionaire and the son of the late Estรฉe Lauder, is also a longtime champion of Jewish identity and security.
He has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to Jewish schools, synagogues, and cultural institutions, particularly in Eastern Europe, and played a key role in reviving Jewish life in former Communist countries.
To call him a Zionist feels like an understatement.
He is also a leading benefactor of Holocaust education, having underwritten the reconstruction and maintenance of Auschwitz and supported many initiatives to combat antisemitism globally.
Lauder is also a major GOP donor and one of the most prominent art collectors in the world.
#BREAKING Edan Alexander will not fly to Qatar.
The Alexander family: โHis medical condition requires him to rest. He will meet with President Trump at a a later date in the USโ
It is with great sadness that I join people around the world in mourning the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, a true moral leader, a man of deep faith and humanity, and a steadfast friend to the Jewish people. From his early years in Argentina to his papacy, Pope Francis was deeply committed to fostering interfaith dialogue and ensuring that the memory of the Holocaust remained a guiding lesson for future generations.
Under his leadership, the relationship between the Holy See and the World Jewish Congress flourished, culminating in the establishment of a WJC office on Via della Conciliazione, just steps from St. Peterโs Basilicaโa testament to our shared commitment to dialogue, understanding and mutual respect.
In November 2022, our Executive Committee had the honor of convening in Vatican City. There, we held a private audience with Pope Francis where we launched the historic โKishreinuโ (Our Bond) initiative, marking a new chapter in Catholic-Jewish relations and reinforcing the common future of our two peoples.
I first had the privilege of meeting Pope Francis in 2008 in Buenos Aires, when he was still archbishop. He attended numerous interfaith events co-organized by the World Jewish Congress and our regional affiliate, the Latin American Jewish Congress.
While there were moments of difficulty, particularly in recent months, I remain deeply appreciative of his warmth, humility and unwavering dedication to meaningful engagement between faith communities.
On behalf of the World Jewish Congress and the more than 100 Jewish communities around the globe, I extend my deepest condolences to all those who were touched by his remarkable spirit. May his memory be a blessing and an inspiration to us all.
Emily, Romi, and Doron are home. Last night, the remains of Oron Shaul were retrieved and returned to Israel.
This long-awaited moment brings joy to the Jewish people and relief to these families, but we remain incomplete.
94 innocent lives are still in Hamasโs graspโa brutal and unbearable reminder of the horrors inflicted upon us. Their absence is a wound that will not heal until every last hostage is returned.
The road ahead is steep, but we will march forward with unyielding resolve. The international community must hold Hamas accountable, ensuring it upholds this agreement and secures the release of all those still held captive.
The Jewish people will not rest, and the world cannot look away. Our fight continuesโfor the hostages, their families, and the values of humanity itself.
