CHAINLINK CCIP GAINS 3B USD IN TVL AS PROTOCOLS FLEE LAYERZERO

Chainlink's (@chainlink) Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol has gained over $3 billion in total value locked from protocols migrating away from LayerZero in recent weeks, according to The Block.

The bulk of the migration follows the $292 million Kelp DAO bridge exploit in April, attributed to North Korea's Lazarus Group and exploiting a single-verifier configuration that an analysis showed was the default for 47% of LayerZero-powered applications.

Kelp DAO, Solv Protocol and Re, an onchain reinsurance protocol, account for a combined $2.57 billion of the migrated TVL. Kraken joined Thursday by deprecating LayerZero for kBTC and all future Kraken Wrapped Assets. Tydro, the primary lending protocol on Kraken's Ink chain, also migrated last week.
