Three days of teaching intensives in Karratha, onboarding 40 new teachers.
Most of our time was spent in classrooms at Pegs Creek, teaching daily reviews with students who were absolute stars.
Thanks to the Karratha Network of Schools and Woodside for backing it.
We stated the year on the road across WA, VIC, NT, NSW and SA.
700+ teachers sharing knowledge and learning together. Honest conversations about what high-impact teaching and the Science of Learning look like day to day in real classrooms.

Healthy reminder from @tombennett71 about the need for teachers to be clear about what ‘good’ behaviour should look like and actually teaching it to students! What a legend. CET’s Teaching Summit delivers again 🤩
In beautiful Tasmania for CET’s Teaching Matters Summit and looking forward to presenting with Bruno Reddy OBE tomorrow. Meanwhile, we got to watch some of our favourites, Jennifer White, Dr Lorraine Hammond AM CF and Brooke Wardana OAM share their insights on teaching reading 🤩
Don't miss this! @natwexler will be speaking in Sydney for @CISOZ. Learn why reading comprehension depends not just on decoding words but on building the background knowledge & vocabulary that allow ideas to take meaning. https://t.co/FXvqUMO00B for details.
Teaching road trip from schools in Perth to Newman, Karratha, South Hedland, Wananami… next stop: Fitzroy Crossing.
Everywhere we go, we see teachers pushing past barriers and doing everything they can to reach their kids.
So stubborn, but in the best possible way! 🤩🫡
Wow, there’s some incredible teaching happening in the Pilbara!
We’ve spent the week supporting schools in Karratha, Dampier, and Panna, and witnessed some A-M-A-Z-I-N-G daily reviews and high-impact teaching.
Big thanks to the teachers and leaders for the warm welcome! 🤩
Saw this and instantly thought about small-town teaching in Australia. The kids know your car, your schedule, and you’ve built so much safety into your teaching that they forget what personal space even means haha 😂
Watching Amy lead a Maths Daily Review with over 100 teachers acting as her students is a mind-blowing sight!
These educators jump in because they know it’s the best way to learn. No ego, just open minds. What legends! 💜 🤩
Just made it out of Fitzroy Crossing before the wild weather. Had a blast with coaches unpacking the nuance of instructional coaching — and with teachers exploring the power of Daily Review. Big thanks to the teachers and students involved, you were amazing! 🤩 💜
So proud of our friend and Shaping Minds’ very own @BrookeWardana who is awarded an Order of Australia Medal! This great honour is for Brooke’s dedication to education and tireless efforts to support students and teachers all over Australia. She is a legend who inspires us all!🤩
Their best NAPLAN scores ever! What an achievement. Huge respect to the students, teachers, and leaders who have worked so hard for this. It’s been a privilege working alongside so many of you. Well done, legends! 🤩💜

When a student shows you their whiteboard... and it feels personal. You teach your class vocabulary like miserable and grotesque, and then they use it against you 😆 At least I got to bring her back to Earth with some little corrections haha 🤩❤️
Practising daily reviews at Mosman Park School for Deaf Children was a real privilege. The students worked so hard, and the way the adults in the room coordinated their support was incredible. Won’t be forgetting that any time soon 🤩 💜
See their stunning new mural by Gonketa.
I've been a bit quiet lately because I've been working on this: https://t.co/AJLP7B3BZP Accelerated and 100% online. Coming soon in early 2025, enrolments now open! @EdithCowanUni@ShapingmindsAus
After almost a year of applying the Science of Learning in their classrooms, these teachers are sharing their best ideas with each other. It’s incredible to watch. These kinds of moments need to happen way more in teaching! 🤩💜
Crossing a milestone while working with schools in Karratha this week, we handed out our 400th certificate of completion for the year. These teachers are amazing, they deliver the highest impact daily reviews that you can imagine and then they head out on duty in 40°C heat. 🤩🫡
