In my latest column in @the_hindu, I look at the most recent statistics on global terrorism and suggest that we must not normalise it as unavoidable. We can and should tackle it with determination and international support.

A memorable evening at the Great Hall, Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn, London, with our OP @JindalGlobalUNI alumni.
Great to join Dr. @ShashiTharoor Tharoor Ji, Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan Ji and Professor C. Raj Kumar Ji for the London Colloquium on 'The Soul of the Republic: The Constitution and India's Democratic Future.'
But the real joy of the evening was meeting our JGU alumni. Wherever they are in the world, they carry a piece of Sonipat with them. Watching them thrive is what makes this journey meaningful.
@ShashiTharoor "Terrorism is rarely an isolated phenomenon generated in a vacuum; it is the ultimate by-product of institutional or diplomatic collapse." - ✍️ Dr @ShashiTharoor
"When the methodology of terror shifts from massive, complex operations to low-tech, high-impact individual strikes incited on online echo-chambers, the threat becomes an internalised, ambient hazard of modern pluralistic societies." - ✍️ Dr @ShashiTharoor
Are we mistaking fewer terrorist attacks for lower risk? In his latest column for @the_hindu, Dr @ShashiTharoor argues that terrorism is becoming more fragmented & resilient, demanding a shift from reactive responses to preventive, intelligence-led strategies. Read here:
A truly historic milestone for Keralam. Heartiest congratulations to #DrAnilMenon, rooted in Ottapalam, as he journeys to the International Space Station aboard the Soyuz MS-29 for Expedition 74. His mission to conduct pioneering research on semiconductor crystals and medicine is a true testament to human excellence. The entire Malayali community stands together in extending our collective prayers and best wishes for a safe and successful mission.
21/08/2003: Following the terrorist bombing of the UN HQ in Baghdad, Dr @ShashiTharoor joined the UN’s senior leadership in mourning colleagues lost in service. More than two decades later, his column examines how terrorism has evolved & why our response must evolve with it!
The International desk of the @washingtonpost was one of the most special places in journalism. It was sadly dismantled but I’m so proud of all my colleagues there and where they are all going. The @nytimes is so lucky to have @emilyrauhala

Saddened by the tragic boat accident off the coast of Vietnam, in which Indian tourists are feared to have been among the victims. My sincere condolences to the families who have lost loved ones, and my thoughts are with those still awaiting news of the missing. I hope the rescue efforts meet with success, and that every possible assistance is extended to those affected.

Delighted to have addressed the @JindalGlobalUNI London Colloquium on “The Soul of the Republic: The Constitution and India’s Democratic Future.” It was an opportunity to reflect on the constitutional vision of our founders, the resilience of Indian democracy, and the responsibility each generation bears in safeguarding the ideals of our Republic. It was a pleasure to engage with a thoughtful audience on questions that go to the very soul of our constitutional democracy.
Yesterday in London, gave a “distinguished public lecture” at the imposing Great Hall of @lincolnsinn on the role of our living constitution in shaping Indian democracy. After my speech there were interesting comments by @ptrmadurai , followed by a discussion with him and the largely student audience, moderated by @JindalGlobalUNI Vice-Chancellor C.RajKumar.

Spent a memorable three days this week in Olympia, Greece, participating in and addressing the 28th Symi Symposium, organised annually by former Greek PM and old friend @GPapandreou through his @gpfoundationgr.
Delighted to have participated in the symposium, where policymakers, scholars and public intellectuals from across the world gathered for thoughtful discussions on democracy, multilateralism, technology, climate and the future of the international order. In turbulent times, such exchanges are more necessary than ever.
Was delighted to participate in a thought-provoking panel at the 28th Symi Symposium in Greece on “Interdependence, Justice, and the Global South: Whose Rules Shape the World?” The conversation ranged from shifting geopolitical realities to the imperative of ensuring that the Global South has a genuine voice in shaping the international order.
It was a pleasure to exchange views with @MiguelMoratinos, @AmreMoussa, @Mehdi_Jomaa, Jing Qian, Cesário Melantonio Neto and Mona Makram Ebeid.
