BREAKING:
A unanimous Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that the swing state’s nonpartisan top elections official, who has been targeted for removal by Republican lawmakers over the 2020 presidential election, can remain in her post despite not being reappointed and confirmed
@compujeramey The way security is set up…it is possible that locals have made a decision to allow the attendees of the RNC to simply “have” downtown MKE this week. They should be the ones spending money anyway. It’s too inconvenient to fight through traffic…
A Wisconsin judge ruled that the state's top elections official is legally holding her position and that the commission that appoints her is under no obligation to name a new leader, handing yet another defeat to Republicans who have tried to oust her.

There are two ways to vote early: in-person + by mail.
1) In-person early voting continues this week! Make a plan to vote & call 414-742-1060 if you need a ride to the polls in MKE
2) Voting by mail? The USPS recommends mailing your ballot back by tomorrow, 1 week before ED. 🗳️
It has proven time and time again that the election in WI was legitimate and accurate.
In fact, it also proved that we must continue to work towards increasing access to the ballot so the voices of ALL Wisconsinites can be heard.
Today, I applaud @GovEvers for vetoing the anti-voter bills that the @wisgop-controlled state legislature fast-tracked to his desk.

We stand with voters. It is our intention @VotingIsLocal to ensure that we minimize confusion and eradicate barriers to the ballot box. Limiting drop boxes does the exact opposite of what we work so hard to achieve. Legislators need to uphold the use of drop boxes in WI.
Recently, the WI Supreme Court ruled against ballot drop boxes for the April election. This is shameful and also confusing to voters. As a WI voter, you may have some questions about what that means for you.
Read below to learn how to make sure your ballot is counted.
“We just see it as an existential threat to stability here in the state."

To ask the WI Supreme Court to block the use of drop boxes is absolutely wrong. It creates too much confusion for voters, right before an election. Legislators (and their supporters) should be creating access to the ballot, not limiting it. This is not April 2020 on repeat.
In Wisconsin, despite COVID cases surging again, some politicians are seeking to prematurely roll back the measures that made voting safer in November 2020. Here’s why that’s so dangerous… 🧵
Thank you @GovEvers for your continued efforts to protect our #FreedomToVote! As representatives try to take away our freedoms for their own gains, we know that you have the interests of the people of Wisconsin, no matter our race, class, or zip code. #AllinWisconsin

You can also follow @votingislocal to learn more about this critical issue and stay up to date on how you can advocate for voters in jail.
There are 72 counties and 74 jail facilities in Wisconsin. In those jails are countless eligible voters unable to exercise their freedom to make their voices heard in our democratic process. Thread below:
Several other states provide suggestions on how to administer new protocols - we can follow their lead. The WEC should provide clear guidance on the respective responsibilities for sheriffs and clerks in these situations. We need accountability.
