@Mrs_A_Wall @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA I learned from my colleagues that I need to take time for myself for my mental health as well as my physical health so Iโm joining a swimming areobic class with a friend.
@Mrs_A_Wall We often look elsewhere for wisdom when in fact if we look hard enough we can find it inside of our school through our colleagues and students.
@Mrs_A_Wall @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA Bringing in an item they are not familiar with and having them guess what it is and what it is used for. Having children learn through play and exploration has provided lots of valuable learning opportunities.
@Mrs_A_Wall @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA I had a prof tell me I couldnโt write in my first year of college. What he had to say will remain with me for a life time. My confidence was shattered! Because of this Iโm more aware of what I say to my students and how those words can have a profound effect on them.
@Mrs_A_Wall @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA Having daily check-ins with students allowing them time to talk face to face with me about anything they want.
@Mrs_A_Wall @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA I have been inspired by my staff members and students who bring so much wealth of knowledge and expertise to our school. One thing that I will put into practice is allowing students time to reflect on their daily learning. #edchat
โReflection is what links our performance to our potential.โ How can reflection influence our students to perform to the best of their abilities? #InnovateInsidetheBox @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA#NLESDDL#edchat
โTaking time to reflect is critical for expect learning and innovation.โ As an educator, do you provide time for your students to reflect? If so, what has been the advantage of this reflection time? #InnovateInsidetheBox @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA#NLESDDL#edchat
โWork with students to give your learning environment a motivation makeover, so itโs a place they can persevere.โ What things do you envision in this learning environment?#InnovateInsidetheBox @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA#NLESDDL#edchat
โ We need to recognize our students as individuals and do our best to bring out the best in them and create opportunities to develop resilience.โ How do you develop resilience in your students? #InnovateInsidetheBox @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA#NLESDDL#edchat
@MarkDBradbury1 @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA From watching a video game the student made his own virtual world by using stick-on decals. It was amazing to see how engaged he was completing this activity.
@MarkDBradbury1 @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA Some of the choices I provide would be play base activities, artistic expressions, written expressions, oral presentations, slide shows, audio, etc.
@MarkDBradbury1 @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA Providing them with choices to engage in activities that are of interest to them and assessing using different means such as artistic expressions, oral communication, written responses, etc.
@MarkDBradbury1 @TempletonAcad @gcouros@NLESDCA Base on their interests and expertise we plan our lessons around what they would like to learn about or further their learning experiences.
@steveperchard@NLESDCA Having a student teach me how to play Super Mario. He was so confident in his ability to show me the steps in playing the game. We made a strong connection allowing him to shine in his field of expertise.
@steveperchard@NLESDCA I believe if students see us taking risk they will be more willing to take risk too. Letting them know we donโt know all the answers allows them to see us in a different manner which results in us making connections with them.
