1/ Now the embargo has lifted, I’ve had time to read the @lengreview in full. While some celebrate minor cosmetic wins, I see the formal entrenchment of a parallel, underqualified medical workforce — built without medical training.
🔶 More councils under Liberal Democrat control than Conservative.
🔶 Our 7th set of gains in a row - our best ever winning streak.
🔶 First time in history Liberal Democrats have beaten Labour and the Conservatives in local elections.
Across the country, local Liberal Democrat champions will be getting to work, delivering for local communities and championing our liberal values.
Hey Google, show me a referral form that has been designed to take maximal time for a GP to complete and ensure that every step punishes the patient and the GP by introducing hurdles.
Sure....
(this is a test patient).
I can't imagine a hospital colleague accepting this as an acceptable process.
I know about https://t.co/SoLnddyuxh
It's infuriating that he has chosen to do this on a paywalled site.
How is this okay?
What goes through the comms officers to think it is okay?
I want to say something, but only let those with a subscription read it. The other minions can read the snippets.
“Find a hedgerow on a bank and examine just one yard of it. Then make a list of all the different plants you can find in that yard. You will be astonished at the variety” (1965)

It seems the agreement is expected to be renewed in 2030 when it expires.
This is so backwards.
UK drs are emigrating unable to get training & yet trusts are being paid by foreign govts to train their drs here.
Why can't we put money into training the drs we already have?

Because artificial turf is challenging to recycle…
“After its relatively short lifespan of ~8-15yrs, artificial turf ends up in indefinite storage, landfills & incinerators, creating a whole host of additional pollution problems.” 😔

It takes @sarahjolney1 2 minutes to read out all the powers given to ministers in the Bill. She decries how much is to be left to regulations, how little certainty MPs will have at third reading, and if they pass the bill how little say MPs will get. "A massive blank cheque".
Patients who have experienced issues, or poor, damaging healthcare treatment from being seen by PAs, please take up David Smith's kind offer to help feedback your concerns. He's on your side! Please DM him for his details, copy in your MPs & Wes Streeting, we must build pressure!
The Leng survey will close this week, we encourage all AAs and those that work with AAs to complete.
Thank you to those who have taken the time to complete and contribute to the Leng review.
"...and he said 'Under the previous administration we looked like fools. Not any more.' ....what did I say Roy?"
"You said he's going to bomb Yemen next Friday."
Physician associates at @LG_NHS also illegally prescribed thousands of medications to patients, including controlled drugs.
"PAs were erroneously given the same electronic access rights as doctors when EPMA was first introduced to the trust"
The recent death of a patient who was diagnosed with a nosebleed after seeing a physician associate in A&E but actually had a bowel obstruction showed that we need strict safety regulations for patients.
All PAs in Lewisham A&E have now either resigned or been redeployed.
We didn’t have to let things get so far. I feel for the patients, and I feel for the individual PAs who are losing their jobs because the system has taken advantage of them.
Patients must always come first.
As a child survivor of domestic abuse myself, it is incredibly brave and powerful to see @JoshBabarinde speak so openly about his experiences.
“This is very personal to me, which is why I will not stop until we change things and why I will not take any ‘computer says no’ answer from whoever it might be.”
Josh’s story is a reminder of the real life experiences that shape people’s path into public life, and why those who carry the weight of lived trauma into Parliament often do so with unmatched resolve.

My family and I know what domestic abuse looks like—but the law doesn’t properly protect survivors.
I’m campaigning to create a specific set of domestic abuse offences in the law for thr 1st time.
I spoke to @thetimes about my childhood & this campaign.
