1798.T Moriya Corporation
Micro cap with barely any volume. Capital allocation seems ok - they at least return $ through dividends
Probably won't buy (can't really buy anything substantial)
Another fun one from the Japanese Stock Market
100+ year old construction company from Nagano
- trades at ~.65x book, P/E ~4, revenues have been growing 8-12% for last several years
Deep value investing seems alive and well in Japan
Been so interesting going down the rabbit hole of Japan Deep Value investors on X.
I thought I was the crazy one for betting so big on Japanese stocks a couple years ago. Looks to be a big trend of foreign investment in Japan
Respect to those sharing amazing info hereπ«‘
@travislundyasia Thanks for insight - I noticed a lot of that as well. Derivative lawsuit and AGM proposals also didn't seem to have much impact either?
Been looking at a publicly listed company in Japan where 50% of their MC is their net cash position and 150% of their market cap is in a publicly listed foreign bank
Japanese stock market is wild lol
@travislundyasia Do seem to be some secular changes in Japan with new PM and new TSE rules, but also just a very different culture towards minority shareholders and less accountability
