I’ve been wrestling through a lot with my faith over the past few weeks. It’s been a tumultuous period of time in my brain that’s affected my sleep on some nights.

Uneasiness. Worry. Anxiety.

I was reading in Hebrews this morning though in Chapter 12:1-2 and found such encouragement in this passage.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

The line of fixing our eyes on Jesus jumped off the page.

I want my life to be known for the way that I chase after Jesus. Not organized American Christianity, not politics, not individual accomplishments…Jesus.

And when we chase after something, eventually we begin to exemplify it in every aspect. The end goal of looking in a mirror and only seeing the movements of Jesus versus yourself.

There are a lot of people that I see chasing after power, dominance over other people in the name of religion, and false gods. And I want to draw the line in the sand and say that will not be me.

My goal is to continuously chase after Jesus and therefore exemplify radical empathy, radical kindness, and compassion for the marginalized.

Great win for the #Lions this week. After the debacle of week 1, I really felt this first four would be needed to tell a story. Love what I’m seeing. Next four are anything but pushovers, so it’s going to be another fun stretch.

Who do you think are the top 5 or 6 teams in the #NFL going into week 4? I find these weeks between three and six to be my favorite time to really analyze matchups and try to figure out positioning for the heart of the season.
