@zeldman I've also made Lathe (https://t.co/LHHbKoPphM) which is most similar to Lightroom and made for people who deal with a lot of media on their mac. Built to handle photos, video, audio and PDFs.
It's crazy how good models can be at making product demo videos. I gave Opus 5.5 some specific instructions and resources to make a product showcase video and was blown away with the result.
Lathe 1.2 is live on the Mac App Store.
Biggest decision: it now requires macOS 15. Fewer Macs, but every feature works on every Mac that runs it. No more "not supported on this Mac."
Also in 1.2: six accessibility passes, and Recipes now work on PDFs.
Most photo and video apps want to import everything into their own library. Now you have duplicates eating your disk, and a monthly bill.
So I built Lathe, a Mac app for photographers, videographers and marketers that works right on your folders.
No import. No subscription.
I'm 42. Based in India.
Experience in devrel, product management and applied AI. Ex-VP and current founder. Solo builder since 2022.
Looking to connect with more solo founders, builders, and marketers! Happy to help and share any advice too.
@Netra It's been a while! Great to hear from you Netra! I've been less active on twitter for quite some time, but looking to be more active here again.
@njpCoder Thanks, great question! Honestly, files changing without the app being told. NAS shares often don't send change events, so those folders fall back to polling.
Renaming a folder in Finder was a sneaky one too. The saved access bookmark goes stale and has to be refreshed.

@i_m_Pania Yup, and its a problem that will increase in the future, with the pendulum swinging the other extreme with people overly glorifying IC work.
I've been https://t.co/CXxEuPlVGQ on this problem space.
Free on the Mac App Store. Try every Pro feature once, then unlock them all for a one-time $49.99. No subscription, ever.
Works on macOS 13 and later, including the new macOS Golden Gate.

Bettersense now has 54 skills and 22 agents. 0.3 release ships evals for itself. 44 golden cases, each written the way a person actually types. Every case asserts: which skill must fire, and which near neighbours must stay silent.
If you're a PM, TPM or EM, check it out.
Kudos to the organizing team. Events at this scale rarely run this well. Overall, lots to learn, and I had fun connecting (and re-connecting) with lots of people.
@patrickkettner talked about "Modern Web Guidance", a set of skills which embed knowledge about web development best practices, etc in your coding agent of choice. I know many of the people who contributed to the effort, and all of them are amazingly skilled people.
Also, as more people are looking at optimizing AI costs, CTOs will be working with their teams to see which parts of thier apps can work fine with a higher latency, but lower cost model. Just having great evals might not be enough.
