Green MP for Brighton Pavilion. Challenging Labour with new ideas at all levels since 2014. Champion of justice, the NHS, youth services, council homes. She/her
Zohran Mamdani focused on childcare costs to win the race for New York Mayor, and the UK needs to have the same conversation about how no-cost childcare could help more than just parents. Me for @GlamourMagUK:

After helping hand out prizes at Brighton’s Royal Mail depot this Xmas, I am looking forward to helping ‘deliver’ a better 2026.
We won important changes and climbdowns from Labour this past year but we need more wins on inequality, clean air, justice and more in the next. #HNY
Full interview here on the unique voice Green MPs bring to Parliament, our growing party, and how vital Zack’s work is in getting our excellent community values shared at least as often as Reform’s dispiriting anger: https://t.co/4dUEY0nlnb
“Reform is not asking people to join so they can work together to build community spirit and support each other in response to the problems they face. But that is almost 100% of the Green message. It is so positive to be part of a growing band of active citizens like ours.”
This is the most awful, saddest news to see - all my love and sympathy to Vicki’s family and to everyone in Bolton who she did so much work for and with. 💚
This is devastating news.
It's really clear how much Bolton meant to Vicki and how much she meant to Bolton.
Huge condolences to Vicki's family and friends.

I am desperately worried for 20 yr old Qesser Zuhrah who is dangerously ill at HMP Bronzefield. It remains unclear how soon she will be transferred to hospital.
Qesser is on day 46 of hunger strike. It should not take this long to get the help she needs.

Welcome news that the UK will re-join Erasmus, providing life-changing opportunities for students to study across Europe.
We must continue rebuilding our relationship with Europe: secure the youth mobility scheme, re-join the customs union, and begin talks to re-join the EU.
After slashing funding for home insulation by around 25% at last month’s Budget, it is nothing short of shameful that the govt has now chosen to delay the Warm Homes Plan once again.
Every week this plan is put back leaves more people languishing in cold, damp homes.
My constituent Ella has founded an org aimed making politics more inclusive for Disabled people.
We met in Parliament with @AmnestyUK for Human Rights Day, and I pledged to ensure more inclusivity in my work. Every MP should do the same.
Top Work, Ella! https://t.co/HsIj0gJvUy
I'm on my way to a Chanukah event. It should be a celebration but instead our community is once again mourning.
I will be thinking of everyone in Australia and those around the world in the Jewish Community who know this fear and loss.
We stand with you.
I've spent three days in Calais & it's horrendous.
People living in disgusting conditions. Our Government is spending £476m on the militarisation of the border.
We must divert that money to a humanitarian response that treats people with basic dignity.

Extremely worried for the awful situation of the Palestine Action activists on hunger strike.
Still awaiting trial, some for over a year.
Green MPs and peers have written to David Lammy, calling for urgent action and fair treatment.
Ending section 21 gives Govt some breathing space to truly end homelessness, but its new plan falls very short.
With housing benefit still frozen, more and more families will fall through the cracks when things go wrong.
Housing remains a seriously disrespected human right.
BREAKING: The UK Government has published their homelessness strategy.
It’s a step in the right direction with much to be applauded. But it falls short of what’s desperately needed to end Britain’s homelessness crisis.
"We absorbed 250,000 Ukrainians... Why is it that we can do that for people from one country but not from anywhere else in the world?"
Ellie Chowns, Leader of the Greens in Westminster, wants to tackle illegal crossings by providing "safe, legal and managed routes."
