BREAKING NEWS: The written session of the ongoing General Certificate of Education (GCE) exams has been rescheduled after authorities detected a major leak of confidential examination questions on social media networks.
The decision, signed by the Minister of Secondary Education, Prof Nalova Lyonga, was read on national radio on June 6.
It followed a session held by the transition management of the GCE Board in Buea at the end of the first week of exams.
All papers originally scheduled to take place from Monday, June 8, to Thursday, June 18, 2026, will now be written from Monday, June 22, to Thursday, July 2, 2026.
The time slots remain unchanged, and the TVEE exams are not affected, the communique said.
Candidates have been advised to "remain calm and continue with their preparations."
The communique attributed the rescheduling to the "circulation of confidential examination questions through electronic means and social media platforms."
The government has warned that evidence has been collected for an ongoing investigation aimed to bring the masterminds of the exam leaks to justice.
