@PavanFederico00 This has been an issue for event research in Canada as well. It's part of why we make copies of articles with weather event info, I've seen online sources disappear even over the course of only a few years.
#ONStorm#ONwx On this day in 2022, a historic derecho steamrolled across Southern Ontario and into Quebec, across the most densely populated corridor of Canada. There were nine EF2 strength downbursts and four tornadoes associated with the derecho, including an EF2 tornado that touched down in Uxbridge with estimated wind speeds of 195km/h.
Sadly, sixteen people lost their lives and $1.257 billion worth of damage was caused over the 1000km path of destruction. Our condolences go out to the friends and family of those who were lost.
What do you remember from this day?

@PMDStormchaser@chase_archive Same! Had no idea photos even existed of it... I often think of it as the "forgotten" F4 from that era, since it was overshadowed by the Woodstock & Barrie events, and the fact that it (thankfully!) didn't kill anyone (although a few ppl came real close).
We found several points of EF4 damage southeast and southwest of Enid from the tornado last night. Damage surveys still ongoing, but we have found EF4 damage. #okwx
A reader in TO is asking if we know of education options for kids with long COVID. Independent school, learning pods, something like that. He has a 12 y.o. with long COVID and POTS after infection two years ago. Kid needs support and can't catch COVID again. Any leads or ideas?

Excited to announce that my method for estimating wind speeds based on lofted debris in tornadoes was used as contextual evidence for upgrading the Enderlin, ND tornado to an EF5!

A good reminder that, under the right conditions, significant tornadoes can absolutely occur in very rough terrain and at high elevations. See thread below 👇👇
High Uintas Wilderness, UT F3 #Tornado – August 11, 1993!
One of the strongest and most unique tornadoes in Utah history struck the remote Uintas Mountains, about 80 miles east of Salt Lake City. It was one of only two of its kind and produced tree damage reminiscent of the 1987 Teton Wilderness F4 tornado—only in even higher, more rugged terrain.

The aftermath of the Sunday #abstorm, with its intense wind and hail. Deceased Little Brown Bat and hail-flattened wheat field. Northern Vulcan County near Carseland AB.
@CraigBaird Trying out local food in small towns is one of my favourite aspects of doing field work! The Blanshard hotel in Oak River, MB & Lazy Susan Restaurant in Trochu, AB are both standouts.
