The Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room has begun monitoring Saturday’s 2026 Ekiti governorship election, listing five local government areas as potential flashpoints and calling for impartial conduct by security agencies.
In a preliminary statement co-signed by the Conveners, Celestine Odo and Mma Odi, and read during the preliminary press statement on Friday at the Fabian Hotel, the coalition of over 70 civil society organisations said it will deploy accredited observers to all 16 LGAs. It will also use its Situation Room Election Accountability Tracker (SEAT) app to collect real-time reports from citizens.
