I've collected together a list of every multiplayer Mario spin-off and which characters appear in them. The question I ask today is - which characters have appeared in the most?

@TurboJehtt Fortnite has started a trend that has made any potency in crossovers feel completely limp, even some of the OG crossovers like Smash and Soulcalibur. What we have seen already is so insane and almost impossible feeling that nothing feels impressive any more.
@RomeizR@vivigrot I mean, it's not about carrying it around. In the evening, being able to pick the Switch up and be straight back into a game in seconds is the best comfort gaming preposition. Certainly more than any other console.
@RomeizR@vivigrot What are grown adults playing then? Because if time available is the issue, then the Switch is still the best option, seeing as it's pick up and play. Being able to pick up Skyrim or Doom at any time, even just for a few minutes, is a bug selling point for a lot of people.
@Gr4v1TyEXcell@vivigrot It's definitely impressive. Maybe not as impressive as it seems on paper, but still incredibly impressive. It shoes a massive difference.
@RomeizR@vivigrot A console selling as much as this can't be catering to just one audience - the reason it's selling so well is that it's selling to an incredibly wide user base, not just kids.
That it dropped in 2026 might explain it selling quicker - but this is a ridiculous amount quicker.
@KirPinkFury Honestly, I had a lot of fun with it. The fact that it can pick from any of your photos adds a lot to the experience, I bought both volumes and I know I'll get a lot out of it - very fun, very replayable.

@RaiBread776 I don't think that's the issue at all. I think it is just that one franchise having 8 characters seems a bit sus when the franchise is the size it is. The sword fighter things has always been a retroactive excuse applied to it.
@KirPinkFury Been interested in it for a while now, but it seems like it will be incredibly different to what we saw initially... It's hard to know how excited we should be at this point.
@PauGabar@wariocolosseum If that's the strategy, it's incredibly short-sighted. The bundle was a temporary offer, if the result of it is that Mario Kart's sales are permanently hurt then it wasn't worth it, because we've seen how well a Mario Kart game can sell and that's worth more than the bundle.
@JoeMerrick I think it's mainly because of how big a deal it seemed to be, people were probably expecting a lot more - but have forgotten that these sales are for just five weeks on a console that's still growing its playerbase.
@SIACTRO You know what, Jolly Jam was enough to twist my arm into deciding to get it. I love all the Toree games, so having them physical was already tempting, but I'm very fond of Jolly Jam, so to have that in there too would be amazing.
@KirPinkFury I think the issue is that the term unfinished has become very confusing. It's MEANT to mean games that were rushed to release before the last minute polishing steps were done, not that they lack content. These games all launched with the content they were intended to launch with.
