I'm not sure how long you'd had the bed before this started happening, but one possibility is sitting on the side of the bed. I used to sit on the edge of mine to watch TV or put on my shoes, and I learned that the sides aren't really designed to support weight that way long term. The newer models have improved edge support, but older ones can be more sensitive.
Of course, that may not be what's causing your issue. I'd be interested in hearing more about what's going on and when you first started noticing it. Feel free to send me a private message if you'd like to chat about it further
