One thing since I've started following djokovic is whenever he loses the loses are never painful or close apart from couple of losses I remember. His match vs Nadal in RG '13, vs Wawrinka in RG '15 and Alcaraz in '23 wimbledon final are only painful losses I remember

More on Michael Edwards' departure as FSG's CEO of Football.

Understand Edwards informed FSG he was leaving last autumn when it was clear they were not expanding their football portfolio. However, Edwards chose to stay on and support Richard Hughes.

Edwards never wanted to return in a recruitment role and the main appeal was driving the purchase of a new club. Bordeaux was initially looked it and Getafe explored. Once plans to buy the latter stalled, Edwards' exit was inevitable.

The role Edwards fulfilled became very different to the one he’d been promised.

He will now be in demand and is unlikely to seek another extended break from football.

CEO role was always meant for Mike Gordon like 2016-2020 like SD role was always meant for Edwards. Issue is Edwards returned in a gordon role. How many people credit gordon for 2016-2018 signings ? No one. Because he wasn't involved in recruitment and his role was different

Edwards focus was always the MCO project

We wrongly assumed he'd still be heavily involved in recruitment. Instead he gave Hughes and the recruitment team full autonomy, only signing off on the fees & players

The actual criticism is hiring Hughes and providing minimum oversight
