There are FOUR standards. A film must meet diversity TWO of them to be eligible for Best Picture

1. Cast, Story, Themes
2. Creative leadership, Crew
3. Industry access
4. Marketing/Publicity

Emma Thomas is a producer, Jennifer Lane is an editor. That means Odyssey has already met Standard 2.

Universal Pictures and has an internship program for underrepresented groups. That satisfies Standard 3.

The Odyssey qualifies for the award without having anything to do with its cast.
