Huge CONGRATS to Ingomar's Bella Phifer on being named MaxPreps Mississippi Female Athlete of the Year. A TREMENDOUS legacy as a Lady Falcon: Miss Volleyball, MVP of the 1A title game in VB, a multi-year contributor in basketball who won 4 straight in BB and VB. All time great!
A mobile home park in Bogue Chitto took a direct hit from the tornado tonight. Awful damage, reports of severe injuries and people missing. Please pray for this area.
Big Congrats to Booneville High School graduate and current Southeastern Louisiana pitcher Hallie Burns on being named the Sports Illustrated National Pitcher of the Week! Hallie is one of the best to ever do it in MS HS softball!
She was 2-0 last week, 1 SV, 0 ERA.
With enough hard work, dreams become reality. Macie Phifer, pictured here in a Dak Prescott jersey along with her family, grew up a Mississippi State fan in a family of Mississippi State fans. Today, she signed to play basketball at Mississippi State. A dream come true.
I started covering high school sports 23 years ago this month and Macie Phifer is the best multi-sport athlete I’ve covered in that time frame. Huge transfer sign for State. Pro tip: they better print extra Phifer jerseys.
Former Ingomar great and MTSU transfer Macie Phifer has committed to Mississippi State. A former Gatorade Player of the Year, multi time Miss Basketball, 7x state champion and one of the leading scorers in state history…welcome back to Mississippi!
Congrats to Coach Nicki Whitten for reaching 200 career wins at Hernando in seven years on 3/28/2026 vs Horn Lake! It sure has been fun! Go Tigers!!! 💛🐅🖤 #teamdcs
@WorldExposureWB Odds are she plays in the SEC next season. She played really well against her SEC opponents this year as a freshman. She does all things that win basketball games well and I imagine there is a lot of interest in her joining several different programs.
@Daddy_OG88 in 10 years a fully local super intelligent AI system complete with a dozen cameras will be cheaper than a years worth of paying refs/umpires. It's inevitable. Most likely HS scenario is a single ref/umpire as opposed to 3 or more and the AI does most everything while supervised
Major League Baseball's new ABS system to overturn umpire calls is one the best things to ever happen in sports. We are probably 2-3 years from AI doing most of the umpiring/refereeing in pro sports and roughly 10 years away from it doing most of it in high school sports.
