Dr. Sarath joins the soft matter group as a Ramanujan fellow.
Dr. Sarath Chandra Varma Vegesina works in soft matter and the dynamics of complex fluids. He has expertise in polymeric and suspension flow dynamics, microfluidics, and biomechanics.
His research focuses on understanding the physics of complex fluid behavior by connecting fundamental soft matter physics with applied fluid mechanics to address contemporary engineering and biomedical challenges.

He also engaged in KISEM faculty council meeting, to identify goals for the next phase of the KISEM project, with three new IITs joining the movement to decarbonize the MSME sectors across India.
Dr. Ranajit Mondal presented a keynote lecture on “Moving Toward Sustainable Pharma: A Comprehensive Energy Consumption and Conservation Potential,” Energy and Carbon Management (ECM 2025) conference at IIT Guwahati from 13th to 14th June 2025.
He highlighted how regular energy audits help pharmaceutical industries identify the inefficiencies and identify areas for improvement in energy-saving measures.
The soft matter group @ IITH had significant presence at SMYIM 2025. Dr. Ranajit Mondal was an organizer for this meeting. As a research group we are committed to interacting with early career researchers in India and building up the soft matter research community.
