Received His Excellency Deputy President Prof. @_KithureKindiki on his arrival in Entebbe, Uganda to represent Kenya at the 2nd Extra-Ordinary Summit of the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM). Among Heads of State attending the high level Summit are host President His Excellency @KagutaMuseveni and the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E @HassanSMohamud . Ethiopia, Egypt, Burundi, Djibouti, USA, United Nations, African Union, European Union and IGAD Secretariat are also participating.

The Deputy President is accompanied by Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon Soipan Tuya. We were joined by Uganda’s State Minister for Defence, Hon Grace Akifeza Ngabirano. Karibuni to the Pearl of Africa.

Held cordial talks with His Excellency @KagutaMuseveni President of the Republic of Uganda, as I presented my Letters of Credence at State House, Entebbe.

Our discussions centered on accelerating regional integration and ending the culture of protectionism by allowing free, unfettered movement of people, goods and services across the East African Community (EAC), for the shared prosperity of all the peoples of the region. I pledged to prioritize commercial diplomacy, sustainable use of Lake Victoria as a shared resource, and the use of Sports and Cultural ties to promote people-to-people diplomacy. Am proud to have played a pivotal role in delivering the East Africa Pamoja Africa Cup of Nations 2027 to the EAC region for the first time in history.

Uganda is Kenya’s most important bilateral partner on multiple fronts, including trade and cooperation in regional peace and security. I have every intention of further augmenting this special relationship during my tour of duty as High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kenya to the Republic of Uganda.

Today, I received Letters of Credence from four Heads of Mission: H.E. Ababu Namwamba, High Commissioner of Kenya; H.E. Sangho Lee, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea; Maj. Gen. Marco Elisha Gaguti, High Commissioner of Tanzania; and H.E. Gabriel Pandureni Sinimbo, High Commissioner of Namibia.
Uganda enjoys cordial and mutually beneficial relations with all these countries. I welcome them and look forward to working together to further strengthen our cooperation for the benefit of our peoples.
