A level Geology learners are out in the sunshine completing fieldwork at Ercall Quarry. They have been examining an exposure of rhyolite that is over 600 million years old and looking at symmetrical ripples formed by waves or tidal action over 520 million years ago.

Students on the Practical Science enrichment designed and built CO2-powered boats, which used sodium hydrogen carbonate and citric acid to propel their boats using the carbon dioxide given off by the reaction. The winners were Junstina and Blessings!

What a fantastic day at our Annual Conference 2026! ✨

With this year's theme, "What Matters", colleagues from across the Trust came together to reflect, collaborate and be inspired by the things that make the greatest difference to our children and young people.

Student Sufyaan Hussain has created a beautiful children's book as his artefact for his Extended Project Qualification. Entitled 'Sam's Eczema', the book explores to what extent eczema affects patients physically, socially and emotionally. Beautiful work Sufyaan.

A group of departing Year 14 students are in London today for one last field trip. They have been to the National Portrait Gallery for the Marilyn Monroe exhibition this afternoon and later they will be at the Cambridge Theatre for a performance of ‘Matilda’.

The Rt Hon @bphillipsonMP, Secretary of State for the @educationgovuk for Education was welcomed by @CEOSummitLT, CEO of @Summit_LT to @solihull6thform alongside Amirah (centre), head girl, Jacob, Maya, Arisa and Fleur from @LyndonSchool School in Solihull.

The Secretary of State is among the most travelled members of the government in 2026 and she was pleased to spend a few moments with learners before hearing from Vince Green, CEO and the College’s Principal, Dr Martin Sullivan and teaching leaders from across England about the education reforms that are delivering more support to more pupils and families to achieve and thrive from early years, through to school, college and beyond.

BTEC Business students attended a workshop delivered by staff from @UCBofficial today. As well as learning about university life, they completed a Marketing activity in which they were asked to come up with a marketing strategy to launch a new brand of energy drink.
